Okay I've done the free discord nitro a couple of times and i gotta say... It was surprisingly easy to cancel. Billing and subscriptions tab in discord ---> nitro subscription cancel service button. Thats it. It's hardly as bad as the rest of them, and so it is a little surprising seeing them go to court over it.
I understand the point in OPs post, but I disagree with it based upon evidence we have available to us. I think first and foremost it is important to mention (I dont have the studies linked but it shouldnt be hard to find) that teenage drug use overall is trending downward, with that including underage alcohol use/abuse. If younger generations use it less, the problems caused by alcoholism will be less prevalent as time goes on. Secondly, weve been putting up with drunk drivers for a while but (as our younger generations have been told for about 20 years now) the consequences for drunk or impaired operation of a motor vehicle have become more and more severe. I do believe alcoholism is something that can and will be phased out given enough time. The only thing that is still a mystery is what vice is going to replace it, and whether it is going to be better or worse.

How does a political party engage with those that ARE NOT WILLING to be engaged as voters. Its a losing situation that doesnt seem to be getting better. When one party starts adopting fascist policies and removing rights from real people/citizens of this country it stops becoming just a difference of opinion. Politics is so polarized nowadays because one group is fighting to help save people, and the other is fighting to just help ONE group of people.
Trump is and has always been a criminal. New York (my home state) just has the balls to actually bring him to court even if he slimes his way out of any real consequence. And believe it or not we dont hate outsiders. Just shady businessmen and people who dont pay their bills.
How the fuck do democrats win here then? After the Harris/Dump debate i feel like there was a lot of conjecture about how Harris didnt talk about policy enough. How do you get away with talking about policy but not "sounding like a nerd" to uneducated voters? See I think this is more about the average voter not being educated enough to understand the issues and the policies potential nominees have pertaining to them, or how their lives would be affected depending who/what they vote for.

Very common misconception to say "economy good when one president in office, but when another was in office economy bad". In reality, we live under the previous administrations policies, as our government cannot make change happen overnight. It takes years to see the impacts of policies put into place. With that being said, the recession economy were in now was caused by a lot of trump era policies, while trump was riding out obama era policies during his term (allowing him to brag about how he was fixing the economy while not lifting a grubby orange finger to do so).
Pay for what you consume is a fantastic idea for a service that hasnt been free for it's lifetime, and only really grew popular because it was free. Just like every other company, it seems YT would rather keep squeezing every last cent out of the consumer in hopes of a "record profit year!".
