  • You joke, but I see soooo many on Lemmy like that now! lol

  • This is the scariest comment I've read in a really long time. You've earned my upvote, sir! Edit: Had to take away my upvote, cuz you ended up being insane. :/

  • Exactly. If someone doesn't like a poster/community/instance, just block and move on. I don't even understand why someone would post or keep in touch with a community they totally disagree with.

They won't change the main poster's minds, and people who hate the community already agree with them. So what is the point?

  • Exactly. I'm not conservative, so I don't really care THAT much, but I do think as long as they aren't posting anything illegal, then let them be. I'm not a big furries fan either, but hey if someone wants to post furry articles all day, go for it. Lemmy is starting to really get extreme about voices they don't like.

We have such good tools to block and defend tho, I don't see any point in poking the bears. What if Lemmy skewed conservative and they tried to do all this shit to liberals?! Everyone would be yelling about how unfair it is.

Blocking users and communities is so freaking easy; people are just creating drama by continually posting to communities they don't agree with, just because they really like drama.

I miss the days when not every fucking thing had to be about politics. lol

  • But i also never seen reports on this community here.

There have been other posts about this community, in fact, I think from OP.

So good there is but also tankies and normies get this treatment so I am not sure why alt right get an exemption tbh

Oh, I'm not saying alt right should get an exemption, I'm saying I think it's bad faith, regardless of the community. If it's a community just for a particular political leaning, I think it's bad form to just post stuff in there to stir stuff up.

Also, regarding the OP: the person posting didn't get banned, just had their post removed. So I don't see it as on over-reach of the mod's power. His (or her) community, and they can dictate what's appropriate content in it.

  • I'm not involved in your original complaint, nor am I a mod of the community that your complaint is about. Not sure why you're mentioning me. I also don't know anything about the Saiko person or the Saiko instance. No idea what you are even trying to imply.

I only mentioned you in my comments because you're the poster of the OP and asking for opinions by posting here.

  • This seems off-topic. Not sure why you felt the need to post a user's downvote count when they aren't involved in your OP complaint, and they aren't a mod for the sub you're complaining about. As far as I can tell, they have nothing to do with your original complaint?

  • But isn't that bad faith? If they are going someplace safe to talk amongst themselves and not posting their stuff in other places, then let them be. It's already documented because they are on Lemmy.

  • Be sure to let everyone know that it's a community called "Conservative" that it was posted to.

  • I understand why they have their safe spaces.

Then people shouldn't insist going into the "safe" spaces, and posting stuff that is against that community's spirit.

  • BPR - Bait-Provoked Reaction. Seems it was posted to a conservative community just to provoke reaction. (Edited comment to remove pointing to OP because OP wasn't the poster of the comment that got removed.)

  • Ahhh, ok, sorry for my overly long explanation then. I wasn't sure what you were implying. And yes, I agree, PJ likes to stir up drama.

    Thank you, friend!

  • I'm not sure what you mean. I never posted stuff to .world to just stir up trouble. When I was still on .world, it was before the election. And Lemmy was a much different place right before the election; as in even more extreme and pro-censorship.

I was hated on .world c/politics (and most of Lemmy) because I advocated for third party, and was vocal that I was gonna vote third party. I was a proud supporter of the socialist party, and that's the way I voted.

My posts are still there, and can be seen by anyone. The reason I got banned is because I double-posted (accidentally) an article from newsweek that said that Trump was rising in the polls. The post that got me banned is still there. Anyone can see it.

Lemmy was pissed at anyone who posted anything about Trump rising in the polls. .worlders all said it wasn't true, Newsweek was russian propaganda (!), I was a russian accepting money to post, I'd disappear after the election, etc. Boom! Then ban hammer.

Well, turns out that Trump WAS rising in the polls. He DID win the election. And I DID vote socialist party. And I'm STILL on Lemmy.

So I was correct about every single thing I posted on .world. And I stand by all my posts, and I'm glad they are still there. And now Lemmy isn't as opposed to third parties, now that they see all the nonsense that happened with duopoly's.

Also, I STILL support socialist party, and still post socialist links. And .world (and most of Lemmy) still hates me. lmao

  • YDI.

Don't go into subs that you don't agree with, just to argue or try to prove someone wrong, and then get mad when you get kicked out for it.

    Read the room, friend.

  • No shaming people for being anti-electoralism. This should be obvious from the above point but apparently we need to make it obvious to the turbolibs who can’t control themselves. You have the rest of lemmy to moralize.

    Love this!

  • This what happens when you do something for the love of money instead of doing it for the love of doing cool shit. And why capitalism sucks.
