Pretty much all flights in and out of Wellington have been cancelled or diverted. Was supposed to be picking up my partner and daughter but seems like that won't happen for a few days now due to flight availability:(
I'm using an old GoPro (Hero4) I had lying around, and bought a Kaiser Bass (cheap knock off GoPro) so had front and back covered. Works pretty well, the Kaiser is a bit jankey though.
I've previously been recommended these: https://cycliq.com/ but it's pretty pricey.
Super blue moon is out and super bright! And for once it's not too cloudy in Wellington to see it. Just took my little one out to see it before bedtime.
Seems to have been mostly Wellington, with a few elsewhere. From an archive of their stores page I count:
- Wellington: 14
- Auckland: 2
- Christchurch: 1
This is fucking ridiculous. Who even would you be tipping in this situation? Guarantee that none of the actual workers see a penny of these "tips", and that it all goes back into corporate budgets.
Stores of Wishbone, which has been in business for 23 years, are displaying signs saying "closed until further notice" and its website is also offline.

Pretty shit for the staff, but honestly not surprising if they're charging $10 for a basic egg sandwich.
2FA would probably be part of the answer: whereby you get a text / app notification with a unique code to confirm a transaction. Not always convenient, I pretty much always sigh when having to use them, but at least significantly harder for people to spoof.
I can imagine a future, not that far off, where physical cards are obsolete, and phones are the primary identifying factor in everyday transactions.
But yeah that whole not honoring transactions from a near(ish) to expiry card thing is total BS. I'd be looking to ditch Skinny if that happened to me.
That was an absolutely excellent game, and great start to the tournament. Really looking forward to going to see Netherlands vs USA next week
I ended up using a VPN, and watching it via BBC iPlayer (couldn't get Sky Go to work / wasn't interested in trying all that hard to get it working)
And it's done, after 170 hours it's finally finished.
Yeah I put one of those down, so just need to get some new / good weapons and restock on arrows and should be sweet to go
Coincidentally that was my plan for the evening too, however did not anticipate how much of a gauntlet the final approach would be. At least I've got a fast way back now so will resupply and try for it tomorrow evening.
I've got one at home, only used it the one time and wasn't really impressed with the results; but to be fair that may be down to my technique. It's basically a squeegee with a weak vacuum, and as others have said it's probably easier / cheaper / quicker just to use soap and water.
