Seer of the tapes! Knower of the episodes!

  • Cassidy was arrested and faces vandalism charges, which could carry a one-year prison sentence and a $2,560 fine. He has since been released

Why is he not being charged under Iowa's hate crime laws?

  • Deregulating the electricity industry has been a complete and utter disaster.

  • Left4Dead2 can be played by 1-4 players. Empty player slots are filled by AI bots.

  • There's no paradox if you look at it as a social contract. If you don't uphold your part of the contract (tolerating others) then you aren't entitled to benefits from the contract (being tolerated by others).

  • That's us.

  • Usually you can, though the setting might be listed under something like "show diagnostic during boot".

  • As its name suggests, LogoFAIL involves logos, specifically those of the hardware seller that are displayed on the device screen early in the boot process, while the UEFI is still running. Image parsers in UEFIs from all three major IBVs are riddled with roughly a dozen critical vulnerabilities that have gone unnoticed until now. By replacing the legitimate logo images with identical-looking ones that have been specially crafted to exploit these bugs, LogoFAIL makes it possible to execute malicious code at the most sensitive stage of the boot process, which is known as DXE, short for Driver Execution Environment.

So, does disabling the boot logo prevent the attack, or would it only make the attack obvious?

  • Part of my job is to review security footage for reported incidents.

If there is a long-lasting visual cue that the event has or has not happened yet (e.g. a window is either broken or not), then a binary search is very useful.

If the event lasts only a moment and leaves no visual cue (e.g. an assault), then binary search is practically useless.

    He will flee the country.

  • Standing against things rather than for things.

  • Using one emoji is fine. Using several, or repeating the same one over and over, is a sign of a demented mind.

  • There was a vampire movie, I forget what it's called, but part of the lore was that vampires were only affected by religious symbols from their original society. So showing a cross to a Muslim vampire wouldn't work.

  • It was filed in federal court. Why they filed in a federal court in Texas is not yet clear.
