Trump says Putin agrees with him US should not have mail-in voting

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin agrees with him that letting voters send in ballots by mail puts honest elections at risk.

"Vladimir Putin, smart guy, said you can't have an honest election with mail-in voting," Trump told Fox News Channel's "Hannity" after a nearly three-hour meeting between the leaders in Alaska. "He said there's not a country in the world that uses it now."

  Some US states do this as well. Here in Colorado they mail you your ballot a few weeks before election day as the default. You are able to mail it back, but most people drop them off at secure boxes around town on their own time. You can still vote in person but its way more of a pain in the ass to do, idk why anyone would. Mailed ballots are far better

- Poland have it. After you regiester, the national mailmen will come to your house on electiin day, but you vote in the sealed envelope and hand-deliver it to the balot box... Becouse, you know, disabled people exist. They have the right to vote. Any system that doesnt create the real opportunity to vote for people that have the right to vote is not democratic.

Just to provide some non-sarcastic comments mail-in voting is a source of liberty and democracy for the citizens of the United States. It is a stalwart safeguard against being bullied and harassed at the polls.

I don't think it's fair to criticize Putin for this, it's consistent with his stance on other forms of voting.

Why aren't there anymore protest in the US? Were the Kings Day protests really the only thing we are going to get? Those obviously never were going to do jack ahit. Is the general population actually ok with what's happening? It's hard to get a good reading on the general vibe over there from far away. I just can't phantom why DC is not being overrun with protesters right now.
- I think there are protests but coverage and communication is limited. Probably because a lot of news and platforms are owned by shitty, rich, people.

If you want change, you stop when demands are met. If only 25% of the Kings day protestors went to DC and just sat there till change happened, things might have actually worked out. Spread over 2000+ locations and one day? Nothing will happen. Only maybe strengthen others in a shared goal. Sadly nobody marched to DC afterwards.

Postal voting isn't a secret ballot so there is concern wherever people aren't entitled to a private residence of their own. However the accessibility and the presence of paper ballots for recounts (which reduces conflict and increases trust) is such a larger social insurance.
Its obvious why free countries embrace mail in ballots especially in a heavily rural country like the US.
