  • I'm trying to think of a situation where a penis, testicles, ovaries, etc, are required and the law would care but I'm not coming up with anything.

Like, you can't be a sperm donor if your body doesn't produce sperm. but that's not something the law needs to worry about, right?

  • I remember once my players spent like 15 minutes discussing how to get across a 10 foot long puddle of water in a cave.

Eventually I had to remind them that 10' isn't that far, and you can RAW jump your strength score in feet with a running start. They didn't need to build a bridge or cut into the walls. They could also just go into the water, but I understand not wanting to submerge yourself in cave water when you don't know what's down there.

  • What? I think the joke is hit net worth is negative. Like, if his net worth is -125, .08 of that is negative one. So if he "gives" that portion of his wealth away, he's giving them negative one dollars. ie: taking a dollar from them.

  • I met someone who told me she worked at the CDC, and she said shit is way worse than what's reported. Of course she could've been lying, but that seems like a weird lie to do when you're making "so what do you do for work?" small talk.

  • I think they said because she was a mutant, the clone lab won't work on her. All the other party members are humans.

But like she's a mutant the whole time, and it only comes up when she plot-dies.

(This is from memory, so I might be wrong.)

It's a good game if you like old timey jrpgs. The dungeons are full on mazes.

  • Phantasy Star 2 has a named NPC die and it has a weird excuse why you can't revive her at the clone labs, even though you could just fine up to that point.

Also when everyone else was like "omg no character has died in an RPG before" youth me was sitting there like "is phantasy star a joke to you?"

  • There was a thread about cheating the other day and someone posted that they think cheating is... How did they put it... binary? Like there are social groups where everyone cheats and its normal, and then there are non overlapping groups where no one cheats.

    Ah, I found it: https://lemm.ee/comment/20529741

I don't think I know anyone who cheats in relationships.

  • Burn.

  • It reminds me of the "missing missing reasons" post, which describes how for some people reality creates emotions, but for other people emotions create reality

The first viewpoint, "emotion creates reality," is truth for a great many people. Not a healthy truth, not a truth that promotes good relationships, but a deep, lived truth nonetheless. It's seductive. It means that whatever you're feeling is just and right, that you're never in the wrong unless you feel you're in the wrong. For people whose self-image is so battered and fragile that they can't bear anything but validation, often it feels like the only way they can face the world.
