So the bride of the wedding I'm attending is Butter's the burmese owner. The cattery the cat is at in Melbs just sent a piccy whilst we were at brekky and she burst into tears :(

Day 2 of stress leave and I think I'm going to order lunch in and then spend the arvo working on my Dutch. My lessons are getting a little harder as I get into verbs, pronouns, and formal/informal language. Also "de" and "het" and the rule for which one to use being "you sort of just memorise which goes with what" is so fkn funny.

After 40 years of pretty much exclusively wearing Adidas shell-toes (thanks Run DMC!), Vans and Converse, my feet are fucked and I've had to come over to the dark side with some fitted fat-soled New Balance runners. Oh my! It's like walking on air and I love it lol

  First of all I’m sorry but I just burst into laughter when I read your “kidney hanging out” on a bus. Thankfully the 6 people on the bus didn’t say anything
  And I did a quick google search and it says the biggest size is 3XL but it’s online exclusive (which is a bit annoying if you can’t try it on to see if the top turns into a crop top or not
  Edit: also my friend told me yesterday I’m tiny so I guess I fit in the tops fine. Problem is I’m an Asian with no hip or back side and the pants don’t ever seem to fit me right. So I guess we both have different size issues

Two Birds Brewing and their Spotswood taproom is being shut down. I wasn't a great fan of their beers, but it's a shame to see independents taken over and then spat out by the big conglomerates.

Tinyest is so funny. I was trying to unzip his stupid jammed Wondersuit the other day, my hand slipped off the zip and I (very lightly) bonked him on the nose. He stared at me for 2 seconds before slowly screwing up his face and screaming “bahhhhhhhhhhhh” at me. Mrs b just dropped a toy near him and he did the same thing cause he was scared. I swooped in to calm him till she started laughing at how funny it all was which set him off again cause I think he felt mocked. Poor little fella, but it is hilarious! It’s like he has to charge up the cry before he unleashes it.

I'm a fairly heavy gym-goer and feel pretty good with my deadlifting as of late, but I still have issues with my mobility when squatting. I keep listing to one side which is preventing me from progressing. My PT has been recommending mobility warm ups/exercises to do before my set...but I'm also just sooo lazy when it comes to doing them so I just...never do them. I should try and fit them in before I go to the gym so I don't have to worry about them once I get there.
- Yoga is another option for you. My squatting mobility definitely improved when I was consistent with going to a weekly class, but YouTube at home is just as good. Consistency is key though, any improvements fade away if you don't keep at it.

For those still so inclined to check any sniffles for COVID, Melbourne city council is handing out boxes and boxes of free RATs that are set to expire in August. Just go to the customer service office (not the visitor info centre) and they'll sort you out. Better they get used than don't.

Turns out Citibank got sold to NAB so their excellent debit card is no longer the best option for cash withdrawals overseas. My Latitude 28 Degrees credit card is still going strong for purchases, although I'm reading I might not be able to use it at any venue (food etc) inside a casino which is a bit shit. Been doing research into what's the best for cash now but I'm not loving any option I can find.. RIP Citibank debit card 😭
- I used ING orange everyday for my recent overseas trips and it worked very well. You have to make sure you deposit some money in the account and use it for 5 transactions in the month before your trip. Then the next month you’ll have no foreign transaction fees and 5 free ATM withdrawals overseas.
  Took this card with my Latitude CC and I was set.

Happy thursday. Got up and am just finished chairing my first online AA meeting. Service and volunteering are in my blood. Service is the last step and I have a lot of work to go to get to that bit, but I've been doing volunuteer work since I could. I started in cubs all those years ago. Another place where all the boys called me a girl and I didn't mind at all.
Have the transgender victoria job fair today so I have to try and get some normal looking outfit together. Being female makes this a lot easier than wearing a fucking suit and tie and having that corporate rope around my neck.
Then I have my usual volunteer work to do on a thursday, counselling and another aa meeting specifically for trans people and allies, then probably more aa with my normal 24/7 group.
I'm over what happened yesterday, but everyone be aware that trolls impersonating our old friends from the reddit DT are here spreading their vitriol so if something seems a bit off from a familiar face, message the og so you can confirm who it is I guess,
Thanks to Briongloid for super prompt action dealing with it and for everyone for reminding me that for every doucebag transphobe I have 50 allies or more!   Yeah, if you click on my username you'll notice it's something like @hanhula because I'm accessing this thread through Kbin. Unlike Reddit and Twitter, which are centralised on one site, the fediverse is more like your email. We can all access the same posts and comment on them as if I'm on Facebook and you're on Twitter, just like how you can email me from Hotmail even though I use Gmail.
  I'm personally using kbin because it's a more reddit-like vibe visuals-wise, but there's really no downside to using whichever instance you like.
  
  Yep, there are hundreds of servers linked together in what is called the fediverse. I’m posting this comment from a server I setup today. It’s a pretty cool concept.

I had salmon (lemon pepper marinaded) and stir-fried bok choy for dinner. The bok choy in the garden has been so successfull I will need a lot more bok choy recipes to use it up. A very good return on my discounted $1 punnet of seedlings.
- Fried in peanut oil and garlic.
- I like it steamed/microwaved with a pat of butter and slosh of worcestershire sauce stirred through. Goes with almost anything (except cake and icecream).

Just posted my “resignation” from the reddit Dt. Hopefully it’s not permanent, but I’m confident it’s for the best. - You can go to the settings menu and add your email address retrospectively if you want.
- I did the same today but with the admin account password for a whole Lemmy server. In the end I had to configure an email server for it so I could use the lost password link to reset it. This is the second time I forgot to press save in my password manager after generating a password and just closing the tab.

So the one thing I've noticed about here in Indo is that there are no public bins. But people don't just chuck their stuff. I've asked a bunch of people what's the go and they thought I was mad.
- It's the opposite in my local park where there's a few public bins and people just chuck their stuff on the ground. Some cunt leaves their up and go on the top of the bin... regularly.

I don’t have to go back to work until Monday after getting back from a two week holiday in Fiji yesterday. I’m not looking forward to the shit show I come back to as I know it will be a thing and then training a new hire remotely a few days after I get back.
