I’m confused if this is in support of coconuts being mammals as plants are living. Or you aren’t aware that plants are alive.

Don't platypuses lay eggs? Also, mammals aren't the only animals to give live birth.
Every time we try to draw a reasonable classification the platypus is just there, mocking and judging us.
That's literally its raison d'être, though, so you can't really blame it any more than you can blame a mountain for being tall 🤷
