Now do fløibanen!
It seems to me like a thread about pizza would likely be a good thread to ignore as a vegan rather than going out of your way to poo poo others culinary choices.
In any case, Cheese Board also makes a super decent vegan pie daily.
Cheese Board with the green sauce is pretty life changing IME.
Ahh sorry I get our misunderstanding now. I meant as an analogy, for an individual your total income is like revenue is for a company (i.e., money in, not accounting for expenses out). AFAIK the payment to Trump came from Meta not from Zuck.
I think personal income is more akin to revenue than profit. If you bring in 100K then you pay out rent, food, expenses, etc and only profit 30K or whatever you manage to save.
It's 0.0007% of their 2023 revenue. 0.002% of their 2023 profit. To put into realistic terms, if you made $100K it would be like giving 70 cents.
Potato bugs are Jerusalem crickets no?

I use this one for comm a lot. E.g.,
comm -12 <(sort some_file) <(grep foo some_other_file | sort)
1985 here. All but the first one. But my coping mechanisms are way healthier now than a decade or two ago so progress!
Same here. Sonic fiber and I've had 0 issues. Pay less now than I did for much much slower cable internet before and I think we've had 1 maintenance and 1 outage in the last 4 years. Just checked speed test on my modem and it 941 down 942 up.
I don't think they are coming back for those of us who wore them originally but my 16 year old and lots of his friends freaking love them.
How old are you, if you don't mind me asking? I'm 40, started paying attention to politics in the Clinton years and then really paying attention with Bush v Gore in 2000. America was full on neolib vs neocon bullshit back then, a quarter of a century ago. The 2nd Iraq War was a big moment for me of realizing that the only thing America stands for is corporate hegemony. Project 25 is no different than the Project for a New American Century, and the "opposition" from the "left" isn't fundamentally against any of it, they just pay a bit more lip service to culture issues (which are of course important if you aren't a cis white christian male, but they are clearly not enough).
Tl;dr

I got excited thinking there was DS9 content i hadn't seen
I'm not a Jain so take this with a grain of salt. Their philosophy of nonviolence believes in two sets of rules - one for ascetics and one for "householders". The former renounce everything in service of nonviolence (they often wear masks to prevent breathing in any organisms, carry canes that they use to tap the ground when they walk, etc). The latter have more "reasonable" restrictions (but are still pure vegetarians, etc). So maybe for the former group?
Quality/purity of fentanyl in Norcal has gone way down recently apparently. https://sfstandard.com/2024/08/12/fentanyl-soap-purity/ at least here I'm sure that is a major contributing factor
There are varieties of Jainism that won't pluck fruits (will only eat what has naturally fallen) and many mainstream varieties of Jainism that won't eat any root vegetables (because digging them up would harm insects), or seeded vegetables (eating it harms the plants ability to reproduce).
Live music archive is still down for example 😞
I've always wondered...
Number 1 that's black beans. Number 2 the punchline is "i dunno but I've never paid $20 to have a garbanzo bean on my face". Number 3 I won't allow my go to joke to be stolen by these fascist goons!
how to learn prolog?
Any recommendations for learning (modern) prolog? Specifically looking at ishigo/prolog and trealla-go as a way to embed rules validation engines in a golang application. Am I insane? If not (or so) how do I best go about learning prolog?
