whether the tweet is an overreaction or not im not super sure, i think based on the information available to many in the west it really did look as if it were armageddon for the chinese chip industry. of course, now we now that wasnt the case and the us pulled the rug far too late

the tweet might be specifically referring to the ban of American citizens working in china's semiconductor industry
when i used to play a lot of mappie games (not hoi4 i am cultured) there were 4 types of people that I ran into:
-really really smart people who were sort of left liberals
-really really dumb redditors who were mostly liberals
-communists
-and unironic fascists
it was really interesting to see how communities formed and changed, seeing which ones would survive, and which ones had the worst game rules
