Why devs consider Baldur’s Gate 3 anomaly, not new standard for RPG genre: “It’s Rockstar-level nonsense for scope”

  • So we should expect indies with a comparatively tiny budget to match the scale and scope of BG3?

    • Gaming hot takes?

  • Real-time with pause is superior than turn-based for CRPGs, especially given how many encounters there are in the games.

    Turn based wins out the less encounters there are.

  • I have no stake in this, but I'm just curious - are these two separate things, or is the article referring to XIM users as cheaters? From a brief read it seems that cheaters are using XIM for nefarious purposes, so XIM detection is also hitting them as well, but I want to make sure that I understand it correctly.
