You can change server fairly easily.
That's the difference between the fediverse and alternatives
Personally, I left beehaw because of a mod there. Whilst they said it was a safe space, they were looking for a complete echo chamber where you had to agree, and simply pointing out a suggestion wasn't feasible and caused more issues was an attack


I never realized they were
Honestly, every other mod was ok.
But, the person (actually a mod of a community) the beehaw mod was defending, if you checked their comment history, it was excessive. And even worse, made it seem that allies like myself who weren't part of the community at all were unwelcome, unwanted. Which is ridiculous, because it doesn't reflect the community in real life at all
So, my recommendation has always been to stick to open servers that are balanced. But, the great thing about Lemmy is that if you want something less balanced, just block servers or join servers that cater for your views
You'll never find one that is perfect though. But, just don't put yourself in a position there is a better option that you miss out on because it isn't 100% (ie, kamala and Trump were not the same)
