  • Are you describing delayed puberty? Is she aging slower than everybody else? She might outlive us all!

Honestly though, I don't know what causes acne. Might be best to consult a doctor. And regardless of what the doctor says, she probably has to eat healthily.

  • Thanks. I'll wait :)

  • It does look like old youtube mix with some parts of newer youtube, I'll give you that. To me, that's what I like about it. It's pretty much low-bullshit, but my eye is not for design.

Are there any well-populated instances you would recommend? I could be convinced to give it another try.

Unfortunately, I don't browse through instance homepages anymore but through the GrayJay app, so my feed is a mix of videos from about 10 different video platforms and at least 3 peertube instances.

If you want to find instances, Join Peertube allows sorting by number of local videos and number of total videos. Dalek.zone, Makers.tube, and peertube.wtf seem like the most active or have the most users and the most videos.

  • From that perspective, centrality makes sense 🤔 Maybe it's just me but for this context, it seems very counter-intuitive. It may be right for graph theory, but when talking about the fediverse, not so much IMO.

  • I have given up on accessing youtube, peertube, odyssey, dailymotion, and whatever else in the browser. Now it's exclusively GrayJay because I can't be bothered to search for videos on different platforms, create accounts on multiple platforms, subscribe to creators on multiple platforms and then check each feed individually. GrayJay just united them all for me.

But I see your point. For being supposedly federated, I don't get why peertube requires pasting links into the search bar. Why can't I find them with, you know, the search? It's baffling. They had to invent https://sepiasearch.org/ for searching across all instances it seems, but it still requires pasting the link into the searchbar of your instance.

  • I'll consider doing that.

    ❤️

There's a chapter on that in the video. :D But I was just vastly unimpressed with the quality of content and the UI. It's not a viable YouTube alternative at this point, IMHO.

I did see that part, but I thought there was more to it. What would it need to become a viable youtube alternative?

  • I don't understand the term "centrality". It seems to actually be showing followship or reachability. Centrality sounds like more people use it instead of other instances or percentage of content that is from that instance alone. 100% centrality would thus mean the instance only has its own videos and doesn't make other videos available, while 0% centrality means it only makes videos from other instances available.

  • Have you thought about mirroring your youtube content to peertube? You can join an instance, set up mirroring, and let it be. No extra work.

P.S why did you find it underwhelming?

  • I never got the game's popularity. I thought the kids would've moved on by now.

  • When is this fat fuck getting voted out?

  • Watch it flop. There's no need for it when you have the fediverse.

  • Watch how the anti-opensource crowd comes out of the woodwork.

  • They pivoted to EVs so hard they made billions and didn't have to fire a bunch of people or lobby the German politicians to cancel the fossil engine phaseout. Please, teach us your fact-bending ways oh wise one. We want to know more of your Breitbart citations.

  • Yes, the armchair expert comes to teach the internet. Hallowed be thy armchair wisdom.

  • The fuck do I care about the US? The electricity in Germany is the most expensive in the EU and just because it's close to 60% doesn't mean it can't get better.

Also, Germany is one of the major countries currently holding back the EU from reaching the 2050 climate neutral goal. They fucked the EU on the fossil engine phaseout. The government was sued because it wasn't sticking to it and they lost. The current government is openly doubting whether they should stick to it.

  • Will they do anything to reduce the oil consumption and build renewables?

  • Definitely an unpopular opinion :)

  • The US has to claim more ICE victims before the world understands it isn't safe to travel there.

  • Now they just have to stick to it. The European Commission agreed to using ODF nearly a decade ago if memory serves and it has been very bad at it. Given that ODF is also maintained by Microslop in OASIS, I think they will continue to sabotage it so that they will generate incompatible versions with their shitty 360 crap.
