Little pond

Small pond somewhere between Ivalo and Inari, Finnish Lapland. My daughters and I go every summer "higher" than Rovaniemi where we live, at the Arctic Circle. This was first COVID-19 summer in 2020. #nature #finland #lapland
Atte at the top of Levi Tunturi

Our Chihuahua "Atte" who passed away at age of 16 last November is still at his peak in this picture taken by my daughter https://www.instagram.com/alisas__photos in 2022, at the top of Levi Tunturi, Kittilä (Finland)
Three weeks together

And already best pals. I was blown away how quickly the older lady took new puppy under her wings. We just can't be with a one dog...
If you mean the names we call our dogs, I found an article (in Finnish but bet you can find the list)
She is. And full of love. More than any dog we have ever had
She is not from the biggest end, that's for sure. She weights about 24 kg but that is enough when she wants to cuddle. Although the breed is originally for hunting, this particular individual is a perfect lap dog
Cute little puppy. Maybe not so easy to take care of
Karelian Beardog

Don't know if the breed is correct in English. But it's a straight translation from Finnish. She is called Tiltu and she came to us as a sort of a rescue dog. Originally the breed is for hunting but not with us. EDIT: picture taken by my daughter https://www.instagram.com/alisas__photos
Nature is outside our windows

So this is why I like to live in a smallish town. And almost outskirts of our neighborhood. I have seen in our yard, of course squirrels and rabbits but also reindeers, different kinds of small rodents from small to a quite big. (I don't know how to spell the species in English) And of course a lot of insects.
Yes, a beagle I will post pics of Beardog someday soon and of I remember correctly there is one in my profile page.
Lakeside view

In the middle of nowhere at Finnish Lapland. No roads insight. No people insight. Just silence and beautiful, calming lake
Oiva 's first two weeks

Oiva has been with us just over two weeks. And he took the whole family as his own. Even our Karelian Beardog has been extremely nice towards Oiva. So, everything whent better than we expected
Took me a while but now I'm laughing and wife at the other side of the room is asking why but I can't, I just can't...
Front yard bunny

We live a small city of Rovaniemi, slightly over 50 thousand people. Our house is at the suburbs and the forests are near. A bunny in our yard is a common sight
Finnish Lapland

I'm going through my pics and making separate back ups from pictures that brings back memories This was taken by my second oldest daughter in 2019
Oiva The Beagle

Oiva has been with us now for a week. And yesterday he started to explore our backyard. Most of the backup is for the dogs, so they can run around as much as they like
8yold and 3monthsold playing
It looks quite wild, fast and furious but nobody isn't screaming or yelling and there is no blood in sight. So they are having fun. It's so strange how good the older one took "the news" when puppy arrived Edit: there's a video but I can't get the image/preview to show
Yes, November, yes in the evening and yes, at Rovaniemi
Aurora Borealis

Last november the sky was on fire. I've lived at Rovaniemi (Finland) over 45 years and I had never seen the sky dancing like it did on that night
Meet "Oiva"

We drove 450 km yesterday to get this #beagle boy. A new puppy since 2014. We lost 3 dogs within a year in 2023-2024. We got one rescue dog at november 2023 and now this little fellow. I don't know was it a decision made of common sense or a decision of the heart. Anyway, a good decision after all.
Yeah, one or two were in so bad shape that had to remove before some infection or something
And if there is a cheese in sight... All hell brakes loose
I know. Some people think their dogs are like tools. This one was a tool for hunting... I'm glad we found her before the previous owner did something else
Somebody else said the same. And yes, they sure look the same
Our Karelian Piedog

Actually it's Karelian Beardog. People in Finland use this breed in moose hunting. But she injured her nose and owner had no use for her. So she came to us in December -23
