  • There are some simply clever ideas indeed, like

    • 5 little knobbies at the bottom of the drink holder, so you can open a bottle of water with one hand without looking
    • a little umbrella in the door/under seat, because we never have one handy if needed
    • ice scraper in the fuel cap, accessible from outside and can be stored when wet
    • little plastic flap at the inside of the windshield, which can hold the parking tickets
    • standard wall plug between seat
    • ...

The usermanual even has a section with these simpy clever things ;-)

  • I installed a new system wih a 4070 TI Super as well, but with openSuse. It installed the drivers right away during installations,, no issues, gaming flawless and fluid (no HDR I'm steam tho). Interesting that the experiences are so different

  • I just did that.

Gaming is OK, Multimedia is OK. Video conferencing with screen share is a bit problematic. I miss some functions from MS Excel. I do not need Adobe products.

But in general I am happy. (Opensuse Tumbleweed).

Happier than 3 years ago, when i first tried to go Linux full time. (Ubuntu)

  • I have Nous A1T with Tasmota firmware (they are available pre-flashed) for the normal power sockets and Shelly 1PM for in-wall Installation. Both work with home assistant flawlessly.

Edit: Shelly tries to communicate with outside servers (cant remember exactly which one, might only be time server and update server, but unsure) so they are in a VLAN without Internet connection)

  • This is what I do. Monitor power consumption with home assistant and a 15 buck wifi plug. If the value falls below a certain threshhold for a few minutes, homeassistantt sends a notification to my app.

All local, no cloud, easy, cheap.
