  • I think that's a big reason I'm so pro-privacy. I'm sure if the US weren't a couple steps ahead of you guys towards fascism, I'd prioritize other things, too. Hopefully you all can stop the march towards the right of your government before it gets worse.

  • How does Monero avoid the problem of Bitcoin? Of just being used for investment and not currency?

  • Anonymity is important for various reasons. You can't predict everything bad a government will try to do to stifle freedom that a person may want to avoid. Off the top of my head, I could see someone trying to pay for an abortion or something like that in a southern state where it's illegal, for health reasons to save their own life.

  • Zionist and Jewish are not the same thing, they're not even euphemism like (((globalist))). There are Jewish people protesting against Zionism, and Christian people fighting hard for it. It's not the same thing and no leftist thinks it is. Every now and then some Nazi tries to conflate them, and leftists do need to see it and shut it down, but that's a different issue.

  • The US government is controlled by the same interests and lobbbyists that control the government, so it's similar although not the same thing. Just because their interests align at this moment because the billionaires don't want competition and the government has a hard-on for Israel doesn't mean their right.

And for the record, I don't even use Tik Tok, and I personally think social media and shortform content is bad for young brains and probably causing a lot of ADHD and impairing my ability to read. But I find this whole bill very fake and performative and probably done for the wrong reasons. It's weird that we finally got an international perspective unfiltered by US media companies that bow to AIPAC and of course it's getting banned.

  • Same. I'm barely in my office anymore since I started even just a hybrid work from home schedule. It's good to separate the work space from other spaces imo

  • I would argue that progress like this is only happening because of the pressure on Biden from people saying they won't vote for him if he continues to support the genocide. The biggest change was after the uncommitted movement in some of the primaries That's why I'm okay with people saying they won't vote for him, as long as they agree to vote for him if he continues to improve.

  • It's a lot of work to admin an instance, though. I can understand if random people don't want to do it. I hope one day someone does, because a California or Socal instance was the first one I looked for, too.

  • Ya but there's too much. Now we have games getting out half-finished because they know they can patch it later after the public pays full price too beta test it.

  • Beautiful

  • I'm going to guess that everything else became so expensive, like food and rent, that people have less money to spend on a computer, and there's is particularly expensive. But that's just my guess.

  • Huh... Ya, no idea lol. I wonder. They ask you multiple before times before you drink it and between steps, so hopefully that wouldn't happen but that's a good question.

  • I had a friend watch this recently with a relative and they weren't allowed to say what was in the cocktail (so I wonder if this person could get in trouble for making this public lol). There was also an attending physician who made sure the patient finished the whole thing. The second he stopped, they said he has to keep going and finish it. And they were right next to him to the whole time, inches from his face.

Sounds like this was a failure by the attending paramedic, who was too far or had the slowest reflexes in the world lol.

  • You think that random commenter had the ability to veto laws, bypass Congress to give military aid, or veto UN resolutions like a Biden does?

  • I thought that was all common knowledge. It's all fairly known and reported. But fair enough, I've added some sources to relevant articles and videos.

  • It's not some unsolvable conundrum, some Gordeon knot. Biden just has not to support a genocide and these people would support him.

  • Because I'm guessing the hope is that Biden will see the threats to not vote and change his tact in order to keep his job.

  • It's so obvious it's like 50% bots now 😭. A couple smaller niche subs are still good, i like the DnD 4e sub and Meet Your Maker subs for example, but it's not worth going through Reddit to get there. Wish we could switch all those communities over here but it's hard.
