it's part of a set of themes that were distributed by Microsoft, so yes! although it will only accept themes that are digitally signed (i.e. from microsoft) unless you use a patch
more just trying to say i got a new laptop lol, maybe should've showed more of my xp setup though because at least i actually did something there
thank you! legit made me smile hehe
i was considering a dual boot but i don't want to go to linux juuussttt yet
it's called "zune" but yea it's my favourite windows xp theme so far
it's the monitor above the laptop, i'm using the Windows XP "Zune" theme (which is orange and black btw) because it looks nice, should've made it more clear
also yeah it's socket 939 they all run ddr1 :)
new laptop :3 (plus windows xp pc)

the laptop is an envy 2in1 16 with a ryzen 7 8840hs/16gb lpddr5/512gb ssd, the desktop is a custom built one with an opteron 165/2gb ddr1/200gb hdd running windows xp sp3 with the "zune" theme, monitor is a dell 2405fpw. both are windows, sorry 3:
no upgrades other than the hard drive, it didn't come with one though. although this is just about the max config of this that you could've gotten in 2006 afaik.
this one? sure, it's a ThinkPad Z61m, TYPE 9450-D9U blah blah blah
Intel Core 2 Duo T7200, ATI Mobility Radeon X1400, 2GB DDR2, 500GB 7200RPM HDD (came with 120GB 5400RPM), 1680x1050 LCD, 9-cell battery (with about 60% capacity), and 0.3mp webcam
i've run GIMP on Windows, Linux, Haiku even, felt the same either way. so like at this point I just don't care. and plus I use content aware fill, like, a lot. will not be using WINE, too much of a headache/
that was definitely more of an early 2006 thing, Windows Vista came out in late 06 for manufacturers, but I think it was definitely relevant at the time
the main change was that it came out in an era of faster computers lol
yeah that's fair, and I don't really mean the UI layout or anything, that's fine. I'm talking about the fact that everything feels buggy and slow, like it'll crash at any minute. I can't stand it. if you like using it, that's great, i just can't.
also I use a pirated copy of CS6
actually this thing is dual booted with XP Pro SP3 and Vista Home Premium SP2
running windows... sorry :\

just for context, i've been daily driving this thinkpad z61m with windows vista sp2 for the past week and it's actually been pretty damn good lol. sorry, i just don't like linux that much. though i might post haiku in the future :3 also it's dual booted with XP Pro SP3 :p
back on linux! programmer socks + pants = ridiculously comfy :3

btw, don't sniff those plastic things around the hard drive in old thinkpads. they smell like cancer sticks and burning plastic.
pic with the stripes showing here btw (i don't think i can put it in a comment or add a second image to the post) https://rowanbird779.nekoweb.org/image/sockcheck.jpg
