YouTube comment deletion is out of control, can't say anything anymore even when completely sensible. Is there a text format (alternate characters) that allows you to bypass detection?
  • Why do you choose to assume the worst and not believe people? I didn't say 50% of my comments are problematic and worth deleting. I said 50% GET deleted unfairly. You are putting supreme faith in the YouTube moderation system and assuming that it doesn't make mistakes when it clearly does. Unlike other people's comments which deserve to be removed but aren't, nothing I'm saying is problematic at all.

  • I did not say 50% of my comments are questionable. I said about that many get removed for no reason despite being harmless. It's you who is making negative assumptions about a human being and choosing to put all your faith in technology and AI to work correctly when it clearly doesn't. And no, again, it's not channels. Channel owners have confirmed to me they're not deleting my comments and they don't know why they get removed.

  • And again you're assuming I'm posting "conspiracy shit" and leaving no room for the possibility that YouTube's comment deletion system is completely broken in some cases. There's no reason to remove the completely normal harmless comments I'm posting. Having this much faith in technology and AI to do its job properly is really concerning more than anything tbh.

  • I understand you're saying the bots/algorithm might still delete it or flag me for it, but it would still be helpful to try it anyway since that's already happening for me so it can't really make it any worse than it already is. If you happen to know some of these "homoglyph" alternatives, that may be really helpful.

  • Interesting, so you're saying if I use alternate homoglyphs as you describe them, the system will detect those and flag my account or something? Seems unfair of the algorithm to do that considering I'm already unable to make normal comments in a lot of cases, but of course the whole problem is the algorithm not working properly.

But I'm just wondering if it's possible it wouldn't detect those alternate characters and I could comment normally (using homoglyphs), since I'm already unable to, it might be worth a try. I guess the definition of spam can vary, but it's not like I would be posting a lot of comments, just a regular amount, or even a low amount.

  • Okay thanks, I'm sorry if I misinterpreted your comments. It's hard to tell in this thread with a lot of people being mean to me and not wanting to help and just trying to find out what they've already decided that I'm saying something problematic when I'm really not. I might confuse someone who is actually trying to help so I apologise if that's the case.

I don't understand why if my account is flagged (which I don't know why it would be), I can still make some comments but not others, and if I change the wording or separate them into different comments, they can sometimes work. And for completely innocuous stuff.

But to be clear, you don't know of an alternate text script that might work? That would be really helpful.

  • That is, no matter what I say, you wouldn't consider alternate text scripts regardless and would just try to find other ways to avoid comments getting deleted, which I know won't work because it's just like every few comments gets deleted for no reason and they're all different kinds of comments. They can be helpful, supportive, thoughtful and engaging, and still get removed.

  • So you have no intention of helping me find a text script that would work under any situation, even when random comments are getting deleted? I'm just trying to understand what you're saying.

ChatGPT wouldn't work because random comments get deleted all the time, there's no reason to think that auto generated ones wouldn't either. There seems to be no identifiable pattern to why certain comments get deleted.

  • I don't know why that would be but it only happens on certain, random comments. Sometimes it's if I mention a brand or company or institution of some kind, without any criticism or anything, a mainstream company, other times just completely random stuff that's not even referencing anything in particular. Shadow deletion I guess, but I have no idea why.

  • How is trying to explain that it happens on random comments and doing my best to produce examples of "average" "random" comments being evasive? "This channel has helped me feel sane lately." "Frogs are crazy how they move". If you don't believe me, whatever. It's literally just random stuff. If I change some words, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. • I literally answered to the best of my ability. I'm so sick of repeating myself by now to so many different people. Please read my other comments for more information. If I say completely basic, normal, random things like "Toshiba TVs suck" or "I love it when people dance like their legs are crazy straws" or whatever random stuff it gets deleted. Completely random things with no apparent logic to it. See other comments for more info. I don't know how else I can explain it. It just happens on random comments.

  • Your comment assumes that something would have to be crappy for YouTube delete it. You leave no room for the possibility that the comment deletion system is broken and can often delete completely harmless comments for no reason, I guess for some people more than others for no discernable reason. I'm considering the possibility of it being location-based as well. Maybe I should use a VPN, or not use a VPN. Or I don't know. But you are just so confident and sure of things and making a lot of assumptions which are false.

Don't let this comment go un-downvoted! Don't think, just downvote quiiick!

Can I get UberEats to stop recommending to "bundle" alcohol from a liquor store to your order?

It just annoys me because I'm not going to order it and I'm abstaining from alcohol. But there's always some "special deals" being advertised by UberEats on alcohol, as well as meat, dairy and eggs. It's like they're really sleazy and desperate to hawk these products.

I want to talk in an American accent but how can I transition into it slowly for people who know me without them noticing a sudden change?

As strange as it may seem, I hate my accent and want to speak like an American because I think it sounds cooler and more like how I want to sound.

I've more or less perfected my version of an American accent on my own, I think.

But whenever I'm with other people who know me, I revert back to my old accent instinctively because that's how they know me to sound like. I'm unsure about how I can subtly transition without them noticing a sudden change, such as through gradual exposure to my accent changing more each time they hear it. That way I could argue that I don't know how it happened and it was a slow progression if they eventually realise it's different, rather than something forced that I started doing one day.

The biggest thing I think is changing the pronunciation of certain words with "a", such as going from "fahst" to "faast" for the word 'fast', or "mahsk" to "maask" for 'mask'. Because it's really one or the other, there's no in-between. I feel like for most other sounds, a gradual transition into more American sounds can be possible, but that one's like, how can I make the plunge and will people notice it straight away and think it's weird?

Why do people hate on mobile games, call them "not real games" and mock them, when some mobile-exclusive games are the best games I've played?

The Infinity Blade or Minigore series, for example, or anything made by Illusion Labs. These games are genius and most consoles don't even have a touch screen or utilise it well like some smartphone games do.

Also why do people look at me weirdly 👀 when I play games on my phone in public while waiting for something?

Is there a way to enable in-chat incoming message sounds for Samsung phones?

When inside the chat itself, there is no notification sound for incoming messages. The messages just show visually, with no audio.

But when outside of the chat, or not in the messages app, the sounds occur when messages come in.

This was the case on multiple Samsung phones, and with multiple different messages apps for SMS/MMS/RCS.

Is there a way to solve this? Couldn't find any solutions after researching

Why do people want games that are just stories without any gameplay, these days? Why not just watch a movie for that?

I get that AMP sites are supposed to load faster. But why do they have to be so ugly?

Or why do they need to change the appearance from the original version of the page at all? It just looks unaesthetic

"There's a thing that I don't know what is" - Is this correct grammar?

How do you say something like that?

"There's a thing for which I don't know what it is" "There's a thing where I don't know what it is" "There's a thing that I don't know what is"

or (the one which I hear people say a lot but sounds awkward:) "There's a thing that/which I don't know what it is"?

To be honest they all sound awkward to me to varying degrees

Is there an alternative to saying "so-called" which doesn't suggest potential falsehood?

As we see there are 2 meanings of "so-called" that can be confused or misinterpreted, of which one implies falsehood and the other doesn't.

One. to show that something or someone is commonly designated by the name or term specified.

"Western Countries belonging to the so-called Paris club"

Two. used to express one's view that such a name or term is inappropriate.

"she could trust him more than any of her so-called friends"

Since so-called I feel is very often used to suggest that a title for something describes a meaning that isn't necessarily accurate, what's another term that simply expresses that something is titled something without judgment of the title?

When I get a lack of sleep, I often have a splitting headache the next day. Other people never get any headaches. What's wrong with me?

When I get a lack of sleep (or especially multiple nights of bad sleep), I often have a splitting headache the next day that makes me unfunctional and worsens until I get more sleep. Other people I'm with have the exact same sleeping routines and never get any headaches, and can still function despite being tired. What's wrong with me?

What's the best response to someone who believes in hard determinism but also uses this to deny responsibility for any immoral actions they commit?

That is, they think all of their decisions were preordained, and then use this to claim that they can't be held responsible for anything they do.

Is putting on a 'dumb voice' when quoting someone you disagree with actually a form of poisoning the well?

And does this unfairly paint them as less agreeable than they would be if you presented what they said with a normal voice?
