Why use VIM/Nano/Emacs over VS Code?

Hey everyone!

I was just wondering why one would use any of the programs I mentioned above instead of VS Code to write Code.

Can someone give me a brief overview of the advantages?

Thanks in advance!

Dual Boot vs Full Linux

Hey everyone!

I got my desktop with dual boot (Kubuntu & W11) and wanted to know if I ever go fully Kubuntu, am I able to reinstall Windows again?

I don't have a disc, but my desktop came with it pre-installed. Is it tied to my Live account?

History of CS & Programming

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some good documentaries on the history of computer science and Programming in general!

If they are free and easily accessible it's a plus!

Thanks in advance!

  • Thanks for the hard work, it's been my favorite app for Lemmy so far!

    A couple of questions though:

    • Will we be able to subscribe to communities on other instances in the future (as Jerboa allows)?
    • I am registered on Lemmy.ml but still Lemmy.World appears on my app when choosing Subscribed/Local/All. Any way to hide it?

Starfield - How long until some basic mods?

    Title pretty much self-explanatory!

I'm a big fan of TES and Fallout series, obviously excited for Starfield but was wondering how long do you guys think it will take until we see some bug fixes and general QoL mods to make the experience better there.

Was it too long after Skyrim released that the mods started to appear?
