Can u like transfer it to someone else? Asking for a friend
I suppose but u also have to take the plethora of words that exist in one and not the other and different dialects E.g the word for family is "parivaar" in hindi and "khaandaan" in Urdu God is "bhagwan" in hindi and "Rabb" in urdu etc etc I'm not sure about Hindi but I think it derives from Sanskrit. but Urdu was called "Rekhta" before as it's parent language . The word Urdu comes from the Turkish word for army "Ordu". Urdu was formed after an amalgation of Arabic and Persian and over the years as soldiers from different ethnicities came under one banner in the subcontinent it picked up vocab from old Hindi as well and due to the centuries of living along side Hindi speakers, alot of words are understood between each other. If someone was to speak Rekhta or even "pure" Urdu today as how or is in old poetry, as it was in the beginning, I'm sure no hindi speaker will understand and even modern Urdu speakers will take a minute
I can teach u sure, if you'd like
I am unaware, and I'm just here to ask what is a threat model?
Am I the pakistani pioneer in Lemmy then? Pretty cool
Me theek hn, aap sunao bhai kesi chal rhi zindagi?
I speak Urdu but I'll understand. Say something to me in Hindi, let's see if I get it
That's so cool! Hi!
Mil ke bohat acha laga, aap urdu bolte ho ya hindi? Aap Kahan ke ho? Aur meri baatein samjh arhi ya English me hi theek tha?
That's cool, what nationality are u and how do u picked up the basics?
They're different languages yes, but for spoken they're almost interchangeable. Anyone who speaks Urdu will understand spoken Hindi, but each language has specific words unique to their vocabulary. Their vastly different in written too, Hindi is written in sanskrit script and Urdu is written in Arabic script. I speak Urdu but can freely communicate with Hindi speakers and vice versa but cannot read Hindi
Any people who speak Urdu/Hindi on Lemmy?
I seen ppl ask this for other languages and wanted to make one for my language as well
Sure, I didn't say anything about atheists. I'm saying that there's no need to announce your own belief and insult other people's belief to answer a question. I swear these atheists are like the online version of vegans who have to announce it to everyone and judge other ppls decision to talk about something else
Online Atheist try to answer a question without first mentioning their atheist and casually insulting all religions first challenge: Impossible
I wear a black ring with the initials of a person who I thought would be with me till the day I die. They left me a bit ago but I still wear this as the only gift I ever got from this person. I hope they're doing good wherever and however they are

Same shit happened to me it's why I'm here, ended up being banned on even my 3 year old account... As far as I reckon it's a device ban,so if you really want to keep using reddit try it on a different phone or computer Although I'd love if someone figured it out how exactly it works because I kept getting shadowbanned as well
I once had someone I knew pull a gun on me when I was 14 and had to fight it off them before they could switch off the safety. 11 years later, I still get anxious if I'm talking to someone and I can't see both their hands, they have their hands in their pockets etc until both hands are in sight
Drop the link bro, we'll show support to your mom's hustle
What made you join Lemmy?
I was a long time reddit user, and made a couple new accounts as throwaways last year from different emails but they kept getting shadowbanned everytime I tried to post, comment or send a message. Just last night, my 3 year old account I had no issues using it at all got shadowbanned as soon as I sent a message. It's just so frustrating how hard reddit is moderated and there's no explanations given either they just shadowban you and I don't even know where to ask anyone either I installed Lemmy, hoping it'll be a good alternative and it is great and a lot of things I like about reddit, but there's a significant lack of the type of communities that I browsed in reddit. Hopefully I'll find them here or more people will join and it'll be better. So what made you install Lemmy and what did you wish Lemmy had?
