  • Do you mean meltdown as in agressive or it makes you uncomfortable when asked?

Its not really a factor for me, at the moment anyway. I never get asked for ID when buying a bottle of whatever and I haven't bothered to give ID for "verification" to anything yet and nothing has changed.

  • The alternative frontends need to be added to a Lemmy server by the admins so not everywhere has them. Lemmy.world has quite a few though which are listed in the sidebar.

  • Final Fantasy VII

I was testing out something on my Miyo Flip handheld and started playing FFVII for the first time. Never played it before and so far there have been a few questionable moments but overall I'm enjoying it. Hardware wise it works great but I did have to ask my wife for some help with the story already and unsuprisingly she knew exactly what to do but wants me to play FFIX instead.

  • Thunderbolt (1995) is a fun racing movie if you haven't seen it before.

Also I love the Tokyo levels in Metropolis Street Racer and the Project Gotham Racing series so recommended those too.

As for Forza I don't particularly care for the series anymore so won't bother with the new one.

  • My wife and I had a trio of pigs. They are such funny and cool pets with the rumble strutting, popcorning and insane squeaks when they hear someone chopping vegetable from across the house :)

  • It is. It's all clean and everything there is just called "the dogs chair" anyway so doesn't get mixed up.

  • I'll pair your cosy dog with our sleepy dog :D

  • The UK government is like: "submit ID first before you use iPhone", like WTF? As apparently, they are considering on making that the default way to unlock a cellphone whilst spying on you (like they already are) keeping tabs on what apps you're currently using, have downloaded or purchases made online.

    Source?

Honestly I'm torn on the whole issue but also at the same time I haven't once submitted verification ID so nothing has changed for me. Hopefully it stays that way...

and people using Sam from Death Stranding for face ID is just hilarious :D

  • I'm glad the story mode is finished but it should have been done years ago...

Survival mode is where the real fun is anyway.

  • Still playing losing skirmish matches to the veteran ai in Gates of Hell: Ostfront.

Also randomly started a Miitopia save :D

  • Both the Death Stranding games do a really good job of using the controller features. I see why rocking a crying baby gets a bit tedious but the touchpad, built in speaker and dual sense on the Playstation control are actually amazing when utilised by games.

It's a shame that the PS controller isn't more utilised by developers and Xbox became the standard.

  • Don’t worry about the downvote(s). People have a problem with new accounts posting immediately.

It's mostly because their first post is to recommend a product so people are naturally suspicious. I'm glad that OP found something useful for them though.

  • I feel like mods are coming back around to the general public again but I don't think it'll go as far as to take over a whole platform. Not even close to that happening.

Also a lot of us didn't stop with mods and community servers etc but with the rise of PC gaming over the past 10 years of whatever comes a whole group of people who don't even know how to troubleshoot the basics let alone make games...

  • Too many to name as the 80s through to early 2000s was full of them. Star Wars on the original Gameboy comes to mind though.

  • Gates of Hell: Ostfront

I'm still getting beat by the ai in skirmish. Normal is too easy and the next difficulty is too hard but it's a lot of fun.

Apart from that I spent time fixing my Miyoo Flip handheld. The hinge had broken but now it works better then before. Even this v2 version is poorly designed but superglue and a little bodge sorted it.

  • It look much more interesting than I remember from the announcement trailers and hopefully it has a good narrative.
