Tesla loses Autopilot wrongful death case in $329M verdict

Out of the $329 million verdict, Tesla owes $242 million, and the driver of the car owes the other $87 million.

$200 million punitive damages are charged to Tesla alone.

$129 million in compensatory damages covers harms for one death that injured two surviving plaintiffs, and one severe injury. The compensatory damages are split 33% to Tesla, and 67% to the driver according to the jury's finding of who is at fault.
