If the fed money stays in Cali, it will be much easier to deal with fires ourselves. Or the entire west coast for that matter.
Fire doesn't care about borders. We all benefit from good fire control.

I support Newsom directing all state and municipal agencies to withhold federal taxes.

So we should pay for it ourselves and deduct it from how much we give the feds next year, if anything.

Set Mike Johnson on fire. It won't help California, but it might feel better for a few minutes and the next speaker will think hard about denying the funds.
