  • Lol. He ate half of it without a bead of sweat. He's a disappointed man.

    • These chilli oils are generally designed to be tasty but not necessarily very hot. I used to eat lao gan ma out of the jar and this stuff is probably not as spicy (this brand appears to be marketed at westeners).

I did get one made locally brand at some Asian shop a couple years ago that was definitely on the much hotter side. Wish I remembered the name. Took me over a year to finish it. Strong onion presence which I love

      • Unfortunately the 2 Lt grim reaper paste is unavailable so he's been trialing all these other sauces and oils for just a hint of heat and has not succeeded. He's buying bird's eyes like you wouldn't believe. I'm living with a chilli addict.

    • I make my own batches of chilli oil, it's really easy but as said not super hot. More chilli with subtle chai spices.

  • I think the ball kicking for doggo has caught up with me. Funnily enough it's the upper back / neck that's feeling it.

But I will find appropriate drugs.

The ball kicking must and will continue.

Edit: Ran into the vets' sister walking past clinic yesterday. She thought hambam was 12yrs old because how slowly he was walking after the park sesh. He's like 3 or 4yrs old. Bit of an indictment on his fitness lol.

  • I went to fill up before the petrol prices all jumped 60c, apparently everyone else was doing the same. The queue was out onto the road.

I also grabbed a few essential groceries while I was out - milk, coffee, cat food and cheese.

Edit: just looking at the receipt it appears I also bought "salted butt". My hot cross buns slathered with butt tasted pretty good 🤣

    • A little tip just for you. If you need petrol half way, Bacchus Marsh always has the cheapest. 👍

    • I filled up yesterday after I forgot on Wednesday and a whole chunk of places had upped their prices overnight. 20c is one thing but 50-60c is an easy minimum $20 saving on a full tank. Luckily there was no queue at the place yesterday, I once went to fill up at the last cheap station in the western suburbs a few months ago and it took 20 mins just to get to the fuel pump. Tensions were running high with traffic blocking the side street and what have you.

      • I went past one last night that's generally around the middle of the trend and it had already gone up. The tank was getting pretty empty after a couple of long drives so I put nearly 50 litres in, it would have been $27 more expensive to fill up at the more expensive one. Well worth a couple of minutes wait time.

  • Against common sense I’m doing some work at home so I have the day free on my working from home day.

  • Might have found a store with staff more useless than Bunnings. SuperCheap Auto.

Need new headlight globes. Take them out, bring them in, ask the people there for some help. Bloke grabs a couple of the shelf and rings them up. I walk to my car, look at the box and the fitting looks wrong. Sure enough, it's the wrong type. I go back in and ask to exchange and he's trying to tell me they're the right ones.

I take one out of the box put it against one of my old ones, similar, but definitely not the same. He mumbles something like "I should have been more specific"

Mate, how much more fucking specific do you want?

He tries to help me again, and I kind of shoo him away, grab the right globes, swap them and job done.

I feel it's my fault for not grabbing them myself to begin with instead of asking for help.

    • aah, the woman in a tech shop experience

      I know it well

    • I bought headlight globes at SuperCheap last year. They were supposed to be extra long lasting, which turned out to only be two months. They also didn't seem to be as bright as they should have been. I got more expensive Phillips ones sourced from somewhere else to replace them and was much happier, they were brighter and still going strong when I traded the car in.

      • Hope these last a bit longer. Went through a booze bus yesterday and the cop told me one of my headlights is out. No ticket, but I'm taking 0 chances.

  • everyday there is less chaos here, it's taking a while to organise the new house but when it's done it will be so easy to keep clean and tidy

  • beeeeeeeach , today I looked to see if there were anemones in other little rock pools and i spotted a red one under a big rock 😊

  • What's the point of silicone free shampoo, when its conditioner has silicone as the second ingredient? 🤦‍♀️

    • Advertising to the gullible. Which includes practically everyone who sees XXX-free on the label and thinks "That's gotta be better for me!". I am looking forward to fat-free soap.

      • Like seeing meat labelled 'Hormone Free'. All meat is Australia is hormone free. We don't do that shit here.

But it implies that all other brands have added hormones.

I think it's hormones, I could be wrong.

      • Good thing I didn't buy it for the lack of silicone haha, it was just something I noticed when I was reading the bottles in the shower. So stupid lol

  • The Hello Fresh meal kits arrive today, which will take me through the move and the first days in the new house. Breakfasts and half the lunches are already sorted too, I just need to add in some random sandwiches.

Today I will try to finish all the packing inside & get the shed packed up. Working tomorrow for a rest, then Sunday will be packing up all the last minute stuff. I'm feeling a lot better about my packing progress after taking a van load to the new house yesterday, I was able to take a bunch of hard to pack stuff up in bags and I have a bit more space in the second bedroom to actually move and finish the packing in there.

Mr Woof and Miss Meow are both being given a food additive that is supposed to be calming (some sort of milk protein, a lady at work swears by it) and Miss Meow has Feliway spray, diffuser and Gabapentin for the moving day. They may end up calmer about the whole thing than me!
