President Donald Trump says he was “being a little bit sarcastic” when he repeatedly claimed as a candidate that he would have the Russia-Ukraine war solved within 24 hours — and before he even took office.
President Donald Trump said Friday that he was “being a little bit sarcastic” when he repeatedly claimed as a candidate that he would have the Russia-Ukraine war solved within 24 hours — and even before he even took office.
Trump was asked about the vow he repeatedly made on the campaign trail during an interview for the “Full Measure” television program as his administration is still trying to broker a solution 54 days into his second term.
“Well, I was being a little bit sarcastic when I said that,” Trump said in a clip released ahead of the episode airing Sunday. “What I really mean is I’d like to get it settled and, I’ll, I think, I think I’ll be successful.”
That didn't happen.
And if it did, it wasn't that bad.
And if it was, that's not a big deal.
And if it is, that's not my fault. And if it was, I didn't mean it.
And if I did, you deserved it.
What do you mean? Eggs are a buck a dozen and tariffs paid for childcare. The stock market is at all time highs. You wouldn't belive your lying eyes, would you?
How is that sarcasm? It's exaggerating if it's anything. Did the meaning of sarcasm change?
Or maybe he's right. Maybe it's sarcasm because he intended to escalate the war.
Trump: I'm totally gonna end that war in 1 day. Yep. Gonna end that war and definitely not escalate it. /s
Like, THAT would be sarcasm. So I guess he's admitting he had no intention to end the war? Obviously not. He just doesn't know what sarcasm means apparently.
