The former New York City police officer will supervise daily operations and serve under new FBI director Kash Patel.
Summary
Trump has appointed conservative podcaster Dan Bongino as deputy FBI director, despite his lack of FBI experience.
Bongino, a former Secret Service and police officer, is a staunch Trump ally who promotes election fraud claims and attacks political opponents, once saying, “My life is all about owning the libs now.”
His appointment follows the confirmation of FBI Director Kash Patel, another Trump loyalist. Critics worry their leadership could politicize the agency.
Bongino’s role does not require Senate approval, and Trump announced he will step away from his podcast.
Defining yourself in opposition to something is still being anaclitic on that thing, isn’t it? I certainly think so. And men who believe they hate what they really fear they need are of limited interest, I find.
In any other circumstances this might be kinda sad. Like does he seriously have so little else going on with his life that all he can focus on is this?
J. Edgar Hoover was asshole in power over the BOI and FBI for 42 years. Died while in office. I suppose that can be on the table to! Over/under on 42 years!
Or better - does he serve his full term? Does he die in office?
