How likely is a strawberry daiquiri to get me drunk? I’ve only had alcohol once and that was one beer.

Considering your mass and (presumed) low tolerance, I would estimate that you'd notice the effect, but without getting drunk. Slightly tipsy, maybe. This assumes that it's mixed to standard drink strength.

Two is probably also OK. Three is pushing it.

The second you start noticing any buzz it's time to ease down. There is still more alcohol in your stomach waiting to be absorbed so you'll continue getting more buzzed even if you do stop.

It's a great way to pace yourself.

Edit: my 2c is that you'll be drunk on two unless you really spread them out. Take small sips and use the buzz rule. They tend to be reasonably potent.

Assuming it’s a standard drink it would take roughly two maybe three in an hour or two for you to be past the legal limit for driving.

Since you don’t drink at all you’ll be tipsy from one.

The problem with any mixed drink is you don’t know how heavy the pour is.

For someone who doesn't drink and with your weight, you'll probably feel one.

Also, mixed drinks are more variable on determining when you are drunk. The liquor used to make it may be stronger or weaker. The quantity of alcohol can also be adjusted by the bartender.

Strongly depends on the establishment serving the daiquiri. Some places load it up with booze, others only put in a half shot. There's no standard recipe. Be warned that sugar-heavy drinks like a daiquiri often cause hangovers more easily than non-sugary alcoholic drinks.

You're probably better off just ordering your favorite diet soda or a club soda and a shot of vodka, whiskey, or rum on the side. Mix half of the shot with your drink and see how you feel, then go from there.

"a drink" contains roughly the same amount of alcohol regardless of type, so a daiquiri should get you about as inebriated as a beer.
Some caveats: since drunk people drink more, some places have specials earlier in the evening or on some drinks where you can make it a double for no or low upcharge. That glass now has two drinks in it.
Some drinks are easier to drink fast, which makes you feel the effects faster and stronger, so you might perceive yourself to be "more drunk", even though it's really just hitting you all at once. Delicious sugary drinks that mask the alcohol flavor are notorious for that.

It takes about an hour to process a drink; sugary drinks will inevitably give you an upset stomach; water and food help keep your stomach settled ; you'll have a better time not having a drink you could have and feeling good than having a drink your shouldn't have and feeling gross, so if in doubt say nah.

You'll be fine with one with a meal with someone you know. A second is probably fine in the circumstances but more than that is iffy.

I don't like beer or most alcohol, so I have a drink maybe a few times per year.

One single alcohol is enough to get me tipsy, and we are similar in dimensions.

Entirely depends on the amount of spirits they use, and the size. If you're just wanting to test the water, don't be afraid to ask them to make it weak, there's no shame and no one will judge. And drink slowly.

I weigh a little more but am a lightweight female drinker, and two standard drinks is my limit for a buzz that doesn't suck. So one double (that is what my homemade drinks usually measure) or two if we are out. Always bracketed by at least a pint of water before and after.

Though if I am hungry, less than one. So as long as you are eating you should be fine.

Strawberry Daiquiri usually is a pretty awful drink at restaurants though, not involving any actual strawberries.

If you’re nervous, you can ask the bartender/server to put in half the alcohol when preparing the drink. That’s what I do because I get the asian flush, so I can drink “more”.

Just have one and see if you like it. If you're 23 then you are old enough to figure out for yourself if you like it or not. If you do like it it's fine, if you don't it's also fine. No pressure no worries :) And you'll likely just feel a small buzz of the drink :)

1 shot = 1 beer.

Assume 1 hr to process 1 shot. That doesn’t mean you can drive an hour after you finish your drink.

You can ask for it to be made “virgin” and it will just be a tasty smoothee.

You can ask for a soda or tonic water to be put into any glass of your choice to fit in socially if you want. You can ask for a non-alcoholic mixed drink or even beer. N/a beer has come a long way.

I am... heavier but a little shorter, and I'd feel the alcohol from a single daiquiri but it wouldn't be unpleasant. More than one would be unpleasant. I'm also a lightweight, drinking maybe once a month at most, and usually more like every other month.

Rough guess here, 2 may get you tipsy. 4 or more will probably push you to drunk.

Quick advice if you want to slow things down, a glass of water between drinks is a great way to pace yourself.

Size and weight have virtually zero to do with alcohol tolerance. Everyone is different. I have seen 100lb people throw back a fifth of vodka without blinking, while my inlaws can have half a wine cooler and be gone. With that said, one standard 12oz daiquiri won't make most people drunk.

Just start slow, and since you're pretty new to its effects, don't mix beer liquor and wine. Once you get used to your tolerance, you can mix it up a bit.

4 to 6 should be enough to get you going nice, just spread them out and drink water when you remember.
