I predict that this will get worse. Way, way worse.
Using "Gulf of America" is an overt sign of ideological alignment; Musk* is basically saying "you won't get the info first hand unless you're aligned with us".
Couple that with laws against fake news, that would sound reasonable in isolation, and what do you get? A: the only ones allowed to talk about government actions are the ones who are ideologically aligned with the government.
This is not a "threat" to the first amendment. The first amendment is already dead, buried, and Musk's dog Trump is pissing on its grave.
The next one following is likely the second amendment. The same one that they screech so much about.
