They genuinely think the government is turning people LGBT. (Let's ignore the anti-LGBT bills passed)

That's the beauty of being a Republican.

Their party has basically won on every single issue, but they keep pretending they've lost and just legislate ever more extreme versions of the laws they've already won on. (Like here in, Missouri, where guns are so extra-legal they made it illegal for local PD's to work with federal authorities on gun crimes.)
