That's allright. I sometimes eat at McDonals, even though it's shit. Most days I cook at home though.
I'll never visit Reddit again (I'd sooner go to 4chan), because RIF was reddit for me, but reddit is still there and it's not going anywhere anytime soon. It's allright to go there some times, if that's what you want. We're not here to guilttrip you. The decision is entirely your own.
@abbadon420 I was using the official client but I primarily made the switch because I didn't like how arrogant spez behaved towards legitimate criticism and I also don't like it when "professional ui designers" force their understandings of what a good UI should be like on their customers and not giving them the ability to decide. That's the same sh*t I hate about Windows (that and their aggressive advertising). And ofc you can modify Windows 11 but by using more 3rd party software that comes from unknown sources and could contain insecure or even malicious code...
Yeah, I'm sticking to windows 10 because of the advertising. I might switch to linux, it's what I'm using for my home server, so I'm starting to get the hang of it.
@Makeshift I mean, after bringing us the critical updates, the lemmy devs could implement stuff like "the button" and "place" too but would it be the same
Doesn’t even need to be place specifically. I mentioned both because they were neat little random community events that only had meaning because users enjoyed making meaning of them.
It’s still a fond little memory to call myself a non-presser, even if it means nothing. And to see the chaos of the original canvas, immortalized in one big glorious mess with each small area having a story to it.
The short lived little social experiments were fun just to see people enjoying making something of nothing.
