The Steam Summer Sale is live now!
Find discounts on games of all kinds (and on Steam Deck too!) now through July 13th on Steam

Aurenkin @sh.itjust.works I sense a great disturbance in the force, as if millions of wallets cried out in pain, and were suddenly emptied.
40 1 Replysugar_in_your_tea @sh.itjust.works It got so bad that my wishlist was broken. I could feel the pain through the Internet as others threw money at Valve.

See, the trick is to own everything.
Then you don't even care about sales anymore because you already own anything and everything thats on sale and interesting.

Armok_the_bunny @lemmy.world Celeste is $2 right now and is really good.
18 0 Replymrfriki @lemmy.world Disco Elysium for under €3. Time to get it I guess.
18 0 ReplyArtikBanana @lemmy.dbzer0.com Better to pirate it.
The original devs were kicked out and the current owners are scummy.48 0 ReplyGutless2615 @ttrpg.network Guarantee the original team would support this comment.
26 0 Replymrfriki @lemmy.world That’s the reason I haven’t gotten it until now. You may be right though.

mox @lemmy.sdf.org OP Wildermyth is a lovely combination of storytelling and xcom-style combat, with a genealogy system and chances for your heroes (and their descendants) to reappear in future games.

11 2 ReplyMonkderDritte @feddit.de Do they sell the air conditioners in the background?
9 2 Replysugar_in_your_tea @sh.itjust.works I just played through Pony Island and really enjoyed it. It doesn't have much replayability, but it's a unique experience that I think most will enjoy. If you like Doki Doki Literature Club, Undertale or Inscryption (last is the same dev), you'll like this.
I'm going to be picking up The Hex because I've liked the dev's other two games.

frankgrimeszz @lemmy.world I heard the best deals happen closer to the end of the sale. Not sure if true.
6 2 Replykakes @sh.itjust.works That used to be the case, back when Steam Sales were a chaotic feeding frenzy of discounts. These days it's pretty much the same throughout.

I miss waking up at 3am to see what the new 4 hour deals with crazy discounts would be.

mox @lemmy.sdf.org OP I think that was sometimes true in the past, but they ended that practice years ago.
18 0 ReplyBarbecueCowboy @lemmy.world As others have said, prices should be mostly stable, especially for big names, but you still might see a few small devs who were like "Oh shit, its the summer sale, we should add a discount" halfway through.
12 0 ReplyProtoknuckles @lemmy.world That used to be true with the flash sales, but hasn't the past few years.
11 0 Replyfive82 @lemmy.world
They stopped the flash sales after they implemented their refund policy.
