A girl calling her sister "sweetie" is kind of normal

Viking_Hippie @lemmy.world Making her think that there's a scary stranger outside of her bathroom window as punishment for a completely banal offense is very normal, though 🤷
29 3 ReplyCarbonatedPastaSauce @lemmy.world Did you have siblings? Because yeah, it kinda is normal. We torture each other, for little or no reason, while growing up. Totally normal.
Disregard if you grew up in one of those mythical "functional" families I've heard about.

Seems like the poster is from the UK, where this normal.
In fact in some parts of the country you might even have a complete stranger call you "my lover"
8 0 Replylseif @sopuli.xyz its called having a healthy relationship with a member of your family. how is it weird ?
7 0 Replysome_guy @lemmy.sdf.org The word "sweetie" must have different implications across our cultures. Where I am (USA), it's more likely to apply to a romantic partner or a child than a sibling. At least, that's my experience. Someone else mentioned this use (sibling) wouldn't be unusual in the UK and I can accept that.
