Ilk go to see SOAD twice.
107 0 ReplyBuddahriffic @lemmy.world Can only see them once because Ticketmaster adds another $36 in fees, but this only shows up after you've managed to get through the queue and if you think about it too long, you'll lose your spot.
Ah shit, sorry, they accidentally sold your tickets on their scalper site for $1244 (plus fees and taxes), but don't worry, you'll get a refund.
19 0 ReplyRayspekt @kbin.social If I should ever find myself with tickets for them I'll remember you, Macaroni Ninja.

I last saw them in 2015 in London and it was one of the best concerts of my life.

oyfrog @lemmy.world I'll just book AAF for 10 consecutive shows where they're only allowed to play the smooth criminal cover.
57 0 ReplyRandomStickman @kbin.run
This and SOAD twice are the only 2 correct answers
27 1 ReplyRentlar @lemmy.ca One AAF concert and the rest is spent on $5 shots for every time he says "Talk to the Chewbacca! Hoo!" in Smooth Criminal.
I'm kind of fond of some of their other tracks, but it doesn't matter if I'm knocked out.
6 0 ReplyDelphia @lemmy.world It wasnt until I got older that I realised how fucking amazing of a cover it is.
1 0 ReplyAlbum @lemmy.ca
The album that song is on is actually great and one of my favs of that era. I'd make them play the whole album and only that album.
1 0 Reply
verdigris @lemmy.ml A SOAD + Deftones + AAF concert would fucking slap.
48 0 ReplySunforged @lemmy.ml I was looking at it and it's the only correct answer. Those are the only bands from that era that I go back to for more than just a nostalgia hit.
14 1 ReplyHipHoboHarold @lemmy.world There were a few other bands I wouldn't mind seeing on there, like Slipknot does seem like they put on a good show. StaticX is a band that has a few songs I still listen to.
But over all I keep looking at those three, and I wouldn't be willing to trade them for any of the other bands.

AccmRazr @lemm.ee That’s my go to but another great lineup would be Slipknot, Mudvayne, and Static X/Drowning Pool.
7 1 Replywinterayars @sh.itjust.works This is like the best actual answer.
3 0 Replysteal_your_face @lemmy.ml
Keep aaf then we have a deal
1 1 Replyverdigris @lemmy.ml They're definitely not a band that I actively revisit, but compared to most of the shit on this list they're better than tolerable.

Vespair @lemm.ee Ditch AAF, pocket $10 and have a great concert
3 3 ReplyVonCesaw @lemmy.world You could buy almost 1/3rd of a numetal t-shirt with that $10!

MrJameGumb @lemmy.world
I get the joke, but there are so many worse bands that would have been funnier lol I think a lot of people would pay good money to see Slipknot, SOAD and Deftones all in one show! Static X is still really good too!
33 1 ReplyBuddahriffic @lemmy.world It's a shitpost intended to troll metal fans. But I think most instead got distracted by the question and aren't paying much attention to the troll itself. The values might be another attempt at inducing rage.
Sorry, but my rage is being saved for the machine.

Putting System and Deftones in the list is and always was weird to me. These are also the only ones I listen to so perhaps I'm not exactly objective.
27 0 ReplyAdulated_Aspersion @lemmy.world The only correct answer is System of a Down followed by System of a Down.
26 0 Replyvegskret @lemmy.world Easy: System of a Down twice
25 0 ReplyPorto881 @lemmy.world
Deftones being below Slipknot should be a crime
25 3 Replymodel_tar_gz @lemmy.world SOAD twice.
21 0 Replyfl42v @lemmy.ml Honesty, understandable: I partly like about half of those listed... But I prefer listening to recordings at non-deafening volumes while not being surrounded by a hell lot of humans. Sucks to be an introvert, I guess.
20 1 Replycmhickman358 @thelemmy.club System of a Down, Static-X, Mushroomhead, and Alien Ant Farm would be one hell of a show
19 1 ReplyILikeBoobies @lemmy.ca Those bands are rad bro, why you keeping $100?
18 0 ReplyNastybutler @lemmy.world SOAD, Deftones, and use the $10 left to cover half of a beer.
15 0 Replybanichan @lemmy.world I'll take Static-X if they're using a hologram of Wayne

Lol, most of these acts have watered down over the years.
Mudvayne is only happening because Hellyeah is mostly done after Vinnie Paul's death. Not sure how they'll be, if they'll be anything.
Korn has been sucking.
Slipknot is a little unstable right now.
System of a Down isn't really doing much and Serj Tankian hasn't been that interested in rejoining the band.
Deftones is solid.
Limp Bizkit is a has been, also fuck Fred Durst.
Disturbed is just okay.
Papa Roach is so-so.
Static-X is just a tribute act these days.
Drowning Pool lost a lot of relevancy.
Mushroomhead seem to be doing fine.
Alien Ant Farm is still doing something but they're so-so. One hit wonder.
CrazyTown is more or less dead.
Ill Nino is just up in the air.11 1 Replycowfodder @lemmy.world Saw Mudvayne last year with Coal Chamber, GWAR, Nonpoint, and Butcher Babies and they fucking killed it for like 90 minutes straight.

KoalaUnknown @lemmy.world If only concerts tickets were really this cheap. I saw TOOL not too long ago and it was ~$500 for two mediocre tickets.
11 1 ReplyPatches @sh.itjust.works Idk if I'm old, or poor, or both
But if I had $500 for a concert - I would just buy $400 in audio equipment, and a $100 in drugs and call it a night in.

7 0 Replyfrickineh @lemmy.world I saw them for free once because my job gave me tickets and they were good. It was a fun time. 🤷♀️
5 0 ReplyLifeBandit666 @feddit.uk I paid £50 last year to watch Limp Bizkit at the same venue.
Long and short of it is that I used to get beaten up because of my music choices and style of dress in this town, in Yorkshire, in the UK.
Not far away Sophie Lancaster got beaten to death from the same thing.
Now I'm seeing sold out shows for the bands I was beaten for listening to, in my hometown.
So yeah I'm going, and I'm gonna be going mental in that moshpit.

I didn't get the chance to meet him, but when I was active in the metal community I heard nothing but good things. I guess I should say Drowning Pool was a local band before they blew up.

None of those are my cup of tea because metal in general is not my cup of tea. However, based on the handful of metal shows I've seen, they're still probably worth watching for the spectacle no matter how bad the music is.
1 1 ReplyDe_Narm @lemmy.world Out of these, Papa Roach is by far the best one, I think. The rest is more or less a matter of which songs they play, I only like a few each. And some, I've never heard of.
