Trump's new Greenland envoy intends to make territory 'a part of the US'
The president has appointed Jeff Landry as special envoy to the territory, saying he "understands how essential Greenland is" to US national security.
With friends like these, who needs enemies.
Mr Landry then wrote on X: "It's an honor to serve you in this volunteer position to make Greenland a part of the US."
These fucking people. The USA needs to rid itself of these megalomaniac fascists.

Earlier this month, the Danish Defence Intelligence Service said in an annual report that the US was using its economic power to "assert its will" and threaten military force against friend and foe alike.

Denmark also has already allowed the US to build another base, after Trump had threatened to take Greenland last time.

The current American administration ignoring some of the best advice ever given to me by an Elder, "Don't go where you aren't welcome." Adding to this, Greenlanders, and Danes beyond this, are certainly not welcoming the idea that their homeland/territory should be absorbed by the United States of America. Their reputation as boorish tourists is rubbing off on their diplomacy as well, not a good idea.
Here in Canada we're not crazy about the USA's threats either.

Bullshit. If the US decides to grab Greenland militarily, there is nothing, nothing, Denmark can do. Like, I wish there were, but there just isn't. The purchase of F35s at least is an appeasement play to Trump's transactional amoeba brain.

I do not approve of empires. I don't approve of Denmark having land in/near North America. I do not approve of the US having land elsewhere - we made the right decision with the Philippians to make them an independent country after winning it. (Guam makes sense as a US navy base, but otherwise should be an independent country, there are a few other islands in the area that US has that don't have the population to be independent, but I support turning them over to New Zealand/Australia)
That said, Canada is the obvious owner for Greenland if they can't be an independent country, not the US.

Just to address Guam, seems a weird situation. Watched an hour or two of videos on the subject and the natives seem split on remaining a territory and going independent. tl;dr: It's complex.
