It depends on where you are in life and your current head space. There is a debate about 'toxic positivity propaganda' being used to shift decreased morale from systemic issues onto individuals, but it's very muddy territory.

Some people just shut out this messaging. Others can find it encouraging when no one else is in their corner.

They are to me! Probably depends on whether you're depressed or not.

Anyway. It can be, but you need to be in headspace where you are accepting of them. So not to everyone and not always.

I see it just as positive vibes. It's someone throwing a bottle in the ocean hoping it will reach someone who might the message inside it.

I can totally understand the other way around though, it can feel invalidating like behing told that sleeping 8 hours, meditating 15 minutes per day and eating well will solve every single of your problems when you have to deal with a crippling condition every single day of your life. It can be infuriating.

I try to focus on the non-verbal narrative and tell myself that it's just a person sending positive vibes in their own way.

Nah, I don't respect the parts about it being temporary and me being able to beat it too much either. I don't mind the drive-by positivity as such, but assuming I'll ever be able to get better when the reality is different does not make absorbing the positivity very easy.
