Thousands of Israelis join violent, racist march through Jerusalem’s Muslim quarter

"The Jerusalem municipality advertises the event, known as the flag march, as a “festive procession”, part of a broader programme of events celebrating the “liberation” of the city.

The march has been marred by racism and attacks on Palestinians for years, and is preceded by a campaign of violence in the Old City that in effect shuts down Palestinian majority areas, particularly in the Muslim Quarter."

I visited Jerusalem in 2019, not knowing about this event...got trapped in the old town when riot police cordoned off the muslim quarters. Got to experience a tiny glimpse of Palestinian reality in the West Bank, which was quite eye opening for me as a german

You know, I really don't want to lump all Israelis together with their racist POS counterparts. But then I see this and I can't help but think all Israelis are like this.
Amazing to think only a couple of generations ago, they were on the receiving end of hate like this.
- There was a piece on this awhile back, Israel was destined for a rightward lunge given a lot of their population would be those moving out of fear or actual receipt of antisemitic behaviour.

This is clearly the fault of the USA and no one else should be blamed, we need to remember to use Gaza as a tool to crush the west. If the genocide stops, we will lose that tool. - ML
