It's a shame to see the two instances split especially since I was pushing for the two instances to not defed pretty hard on the hexbear side, but the mod of one of the largest Comms being openly ableist, doubling down by deleting accusations of ableism then being ableist again in the removal reason and also defending chasers is pretty damning imo

I really wanted the two instances to stay federated and advocated for such, but now I'm not sure if I even want to be here. Here's hoping we can commandeer 196 and make sure it's based and doesn't end up like the reddit one

They posted a comment that included the word libt*rd and then [one of the other mods apparently] deleted an anarchist hexbear users comment calling this out, then they [(affirmentioned other mod)] called him "braindead" in one of the removal reasons for him pushing back on being accused of being a tankie iirc. After getting more push back on the initial comment moss edited the slur out.

I didn't call anyone braindead, and I left the slur in so that people would know what I said, and what I was apologizing for.

I've edited the post to reflect that.
Though imo saying that it's not just one but multiple of the mods being ableist isn't the best of defenses
Edit: ok since hexbear doesn't seem to be coming back up I'll report it on this account asking one of the mods to delete it

I saw that, I've had a talk with my team about using better language when resolving reports. Stuff like this shouldn't be happening

To be fair, the comment about criticism of Marxism Leninism being inherently racist because some MLs are not white was, in a technical sense of the term, totally braindead.
I’ve gone a few rounds with another HB poster trying to get some clarity, but that seems to indeed be the sum total of the argument.

I believe that hexbear specifically decided not to federate with kbin in the initial discussion of federation due to concerns over poor moderation and bigotry so you shouldn't be able to see comments by hexbear users anyway

I definitely see them O.o Kbin's kinda weird. Maybe there's spooky magic involved! ... Okay, there isn't, but I don't know why I see them and seem to have no option to not see them without jumping ship.

On kbin here, definitely can see them. If they did not federate with kbin that means they just can't see kbin posts/comments
