  • "William Freeman Ph.D., then an electrical engineer at Polaroid and now an MIT professor, saw it and submitted a novel idea: a three-sided zipper. Instead of fastening pants, it'd be like a switch that seamlessly flipped chairs, tents, and purses between soft and rigid states, making them easier to pack and put together."

    Interesting but useless.

  • Ive tried to recreate this but im not a netowork engineer or anything. Ive seen the videos of people accessing the cameras. If i could access the cameras our facilities higher ups would surely lose their shit.

  • Thanks this will be included in my reply.

The patent does explicitly say the intent is facial recognition, which I highlited for them in the email.

  • This moron is also a MAGA appologist and enabler. I left Proton for other alternatives. They want to claim they are "politically nuetral" well if you really were you wouldnt be commenting at all on politics would you?

  • The union confirmed that they are.

  • Ive found GIMP hard to use honestly... I suspect it will end up being replaced entirely by AI

  • Well i dont know if thats true or not about the data centers but this is a trend that is happening all over the world as i understand it.

  • Could be possible I think.

  • This sounds like a good idea but i have never seen anyone do anything like that at my workplace... i fear it might be stigmatizing

  • Cant say i havent thought about it but its been a lot of work to build my career up to this point.

  • Regardless of the record of complaint, the potential risk of getting caught is going to cause me to lose my job anyway (at the least). So i figured i should try a legitamate route and that maybe it could work and there wouldnt be any risk that way.

  • No i dont.

  • Thanks I will look into this a bit more.

  • Agreed on those points. I asked the same exact question to my union rep becuase we already have a very tight security infrastructure due to the nature of our work. I dont mind our business having standard security becuase we are not in the business of data sales. I did not yet get a reply that really answered to that very obvious point.

  • I guess ill leave that as a last resort.

  • I dont know of single service I use that doesnt have a website

  • Ill just use web browser shortcuts, i guess i dont really care that much about apps anymore.

  • I preordered the jolla phone with sailfish OS... hopefully that will be a good alternative to todays monopoly

  • I have been using copmaps. Its not as accurate as google or apple but it better than nothing and i dont mind.
