  • It should probably facilitate discussions then 🤯 you can just silence & deprioritize notifications. The point is having it all in a unified feed. RSS does that well, but adding the RSS notifs of important shit + messages is helpful.

    People often need to continue conversations to clarify information & elaborate... I can't believe I'm saying something this obvious. Shades of Mastodon users justifying suicidal design choices that were later rolled back here.

    Nice ad for one of the apps that constantly pushes instances in the World (which blocks VPNs, nice privacy dumbasses!) social graph in multiple interfaces that are not adaptive to user experience

  • If the ceasefire actually held (honestly I haven't refreshed RSS feed since last night so who the fuck knows I saw Lebanon getting bombed to hell & their demands are included so it's gotta be right back to it or all bets are off, I mean they'd simply bomb Lebanon, come back & bomb Iran again so WTF) then the damage would start moving down the supply chain anyways, it would be very smart to have time to move shit around safely, fortify defenses, get radars back up, work on healing the damage to the society as a whole, you can do a lot in two weeks. Well shit.

    Anyways sidenote but can I say it sucks being an RSS user and having the megathreads be actually useful. It can't be that hard to set up an RSS for megathreads but it's just not worth the time
