Lemmy Shitpost @lemmy.world The best salmon in 65 years
They're just getting his pedophilia prerequisites out of the way before he runs for office. Hype-up republican voters with his star power and insatiable thirst for children.
Good to know!
With only a few generations of inbreeding, you too can have blistering sausage fingers like this man of nobility.

No sympathy, please. Our elected government, voted in for a second term by Americans too God damn dumb to realize they were getting conned, erased 100 years of progress in six months. All through propaganda aimed at REAL America. Middle States, southern states, predominately white states, where more Americans live maleducated lives in poverty, working as manual labor in yesterdays industries because they weren't afforded the luxuries of other states. The imbalance of power is wilder than I've ever experienced. Someone said "send help." While some of you scoffed at this plea, or just shit all over it, I can feel the desperation. I'm about as far left as I can get without removing walls of logic. We literally have concentration camps. An SS of fuckers too scared to join the military and too fucking dumb to be cops abducting folks, while onlookers are fired upon so these fucks can protect their identities (black and latinx Americans working for ICE can suck a .22, anything white that moves in groups of 4 or more males, shoot on sight).
Uneducated Americans with generational hatred toward anything different than themselves. Their pappy's pappy hated everything other than white straight people, and that shit gets handed down like a fucking family heirloom. I know. I had to break those chains in my family. Parents have died, other family members, formwr close friends, and I refuse to shed a tear for any of them. The first time they voted him in, I told these people I would never speak to them again. Now my friend and family circle is just me, wife, and cat, but I can also sleep well at night knowing I wasn't a hypocrite or bending in my beliefs.
Which brings me to action. I believe I am doing as much as I can in the interest of my safety, the safety of my wife and cat, and the safety of other Americans (and nonamericans) regardless of political alignment. I struggle with self control in volatile situations. Regardless of strategy, andvance knowledge, scenario, my brain abandons logic and goes on the offensive. No flight, only fight. Never unjustly, in my opinion, at least if you consider yourself antifascist and subscribe to those beliefs.
I've also been to prison. I didn't enjoy it, and although nothing bad happened to me aside from a week-long migraine, I'll never place myself in a position where I could find myself coming out the other end locked-uo because I was fighting for my rights. Not sure what jails/prisons other Americans been in, but no bueno. Shout out to Catshit, MParker, and Texas.
So action... I want to burn it all down. I fantasize about it (and more!). The thought of certain inevitable deaths fill me with enthusiasm, fire. I don't want to be passionate about any of this, but I am because other people living in America are losing their rights to fucking exist. Meanwhile, shitheads like me want nothing more than to avenge these nameless, faceless fellow Americans and immigrants. I probably don't like these people (i like few), but they have rights, and therefore worth fighting for. I would love for all of us to collectively go John Wick on the likes of the far right, but unlike those MAGAts, some of us are just too wise to do anything that could fail so miserably. I'd love to go strength in numbers with all of you fellow people wanting to fight back, but where the fuck is everyone? I'm in a RED AF state. My local antifa is us. Assuming the cat isn't a fascist piece of shit. What can I do beyond the writing, blogging, calling (might as well punch yourself in the balls twice instead), showing up? When I travel, so do my stickers, masks, and my get fucked bag. I'm unapologetically antifascist. I also hate all other Americans, including those of us too pussy or too fucking locked down in middle class purgatory with a career in a dead state, a cross species family settled into a nice single family home, just enough money to be able to afford the hottest new game eight months after it's release on deep discount used through GameFly and still be able to eat in. Sounds like heaven, and compared to the atrocities happening around the world, I can't complain. I also can't march up to the granite stairs armed to the teeth like the Jan 6 fuckers. Precedent suggests I'd be DOA. We need a militia, or at least thirty middle-aged fucks like myself willing to live out our fever dreams in the name of saving democracy. I have no friends. For fucks sake, I spend time lurking here. Who you think I am?
This is unprecedented. We're not taught shit about fascism in school. I learned on my own in college after reading books suggested by likeminded people. We don't know what to do. Voting has been our weapon, by design by our forefathers (whom were also likely scumbag pedophiles), and now that it has been proven ineffective, we're kinda at a loss. So we protest, peacefully until some homophobe gets butt hurt over rainbows or someshit. Then we're persecuted, arrested, lives and careers wrecked. Unless you die a folk hero, you're just another cow on the tracks. We have concentration camps. An SS abducting people REGARDLESS of citizenship status. Mass survelence. Unprecedented. Meanwhile, when we're not protesting, we're doing arts and crafts for protesting, or being wage slaves making just enough money to afford food and water. If you have a pet or, God forbid, a family, and you're not making $120,000 on a cushy part-time schedule, where's the fucking time, money, and energy necessary to organize and fight? We're boned. The only way I truly see this ending is in another civil war. With all of us so integrated, it will literally be next door neighbor vs next door neighbor. We could use an intervention from abroad, but we don't deserve one. Or at least HALF of Americans don't deserve one. Some of us still trying to fight the good fight against literal evil, equipped with nothing but our wits. Voting has become sooo convoluted, the average American is probably reluctant to even participate. You should see the ballots. I'm currently working on my PhD in my late 40s, and I have to read, reread, and reread again some of the shit on these ballots. No fucking way Earl from the Creek gonna know half the words on that sumbish, let alone hit an option correctly with that pencil eraser and those meth shakes.
It's bad. Most all of us are fucking assholes. I hate people who look like me, because people who look like me are the villains. Not defending OP per se, but maybe this was their way of expressing discontent with America as an American. I hate the post too, don't get me wrong, but some of us are struggling with the absolute absurdity of all this, want it to end immediately, are willing to help, but haven't a clue how aside from using the tools we were given. They could give a fuck about my 2nd ammendement rights if I roll up armed to the teeth wanting to "talk."
Don't give us a break, but don't assume we're all behind this shitshow. This can happen anywhere, and it happens fast. No political party is any better than the other, because they're all politicians. But even the less evil side can't get their shit together enough to combat this.
This is long. Sorry.

In my late 40s, hippie speed balls every morning. Bad(?) habit I picked up (again) within the past five years. Like a few other have said, it really levels me out, giving me the ability to fine tune my focus first thing in the morning. The absurdities at work nearly require marijuana consumption. Being a midday slug has been the only downside.
Arizer Solo 3 and a ball vape. Also own a Solo 2, a Tinymight 2, and some trash vape I bought for $60 ten years ago. The Solo 3 is by far the best portable I've owned so far.
I don't have anywhere or anyone else to share my ever-growing collection of Critter pics, so here's three. Thanks in advance for tolerating my "proud parent" psychosis.
Critter thanks you! He seems to be astounding in just about every way. I'm vonvinced every decent human being should should have a cat.
Thank you! He is loved, and probably spoiled. As am I now.
Thank you! As much as we took him in, he took us in just as hard. He just needed a house to build his small colony.
Thanks for the excellent tip! My wife has had cats before, one notable long haired, and was familiar with the necessity, but not clear on frequency or suggestion of professional assistance. We've been using pet wipes in the few times we found a necessity. He keeps himself really clean, which I find admirable as a mildly OCD clean freak myself.
Thanks! You're not kidding. Not to sound sappy, but in my late 40s now, I've been hitting that midlife existential crisis button hard for several years. Thinking about success, legacy, mortality. Devil's plaything thoughts from lack of living. Since Critter showed up, I can't recall having those thoughts.
He gives the best cuddles already, so I can't wait for weighted blanket level snugs from a monster kitty!
I had hoped to net a groundhog with the rule, but Critter will suffice 🙂
Thanks for all the RL advice! We're a child-free couple (I have an estranged one from a previous nightmare), so we're probably already oversensitive to all of his needs. Being my first pet, and a kitten at that, learning how activeness can escalate from 0-10 immediately has been a experience. Yesterday, he was just chillin' and I was convinced there was something wrong. He reminded me that I was being oversensitive by pouncing on my arm and playfully gnawing the heck out of it.
Vet thinks he may have some Norwegian Forest Cat in him. Stray, so who knows.
Wildlife love our backyard. We've had a family of groundhogs, skunks, raccoons, oppossums, gorgeous arrays of birds, specifically geese... lots of geese.
I adore these animals for no good reason, so much so I donned the house in cameras to catch their goings-on. It's essentially a 24/7 parade of cute.
So my dumb rule. If any of them ever want to willingly enter our home AND allow us to bathe them, they can stay.
Not only did Critter essentially invite himself in, he also allowed us to give him a Dawn dishsoap bath in our bathtub (figuring if Dawn is safe for ducks, this lil fella would be fine). Not only did he allow this, he didn't make a sound, fight back, or anything. Just a peaceful little wet mess of fur (with gigantic paws). Wrapped him up in a towel (tossed in the dryer for maximum warmth) and sat on the deck under the afternoon sun when he dried/rested. Even with the rule, we decided on a 2 week trial. That lasted less than a day.
Nothing exciting, but the probability of it all atop the impact his limited time with us has had. Just a lovely critter.
cats @lemmy.world Introducing Critter!
Armchair psychologist here also trying to figure himself out before the inevitable end.
I don't think this is as much of an uncontrollable craze as it is hyper-awareness of your passive actions/thoughts. Imagine the opposite of complete, nothing to react to, ignorance x 10. I'm a perfectionist and a problem solver. I have to earn leisure through productivity. I constantly desire more of everything. I'm over-observant with grainy photographic memory. AND I'm hyper-aware of everything all the time. It may be my brain's desire to consume or collect information, even if it's trivial or irrelevant. This includes the passively hyper-focused observation of others.
You do it with dudes as well. Pets, cars, mailboxes. You get the idea. The only reason women stand out to you is likely because that's just what you're interested in. There was some faux research done a million years ago about how frequently men think about sex, and it was just short of nearly all the time. Since then debunked, but I still think it's impossible for researchers to access the human subconscious, or our background processes. But like you said, you're a heterosexual guy. It's what we do. I too look at everyone I cross. Some stick with me, some generate uncontrollable thoughts or controllable urges.
I haven't a clue what our current purpose is beyond the parasitization of Earth, but I imagine like all other living, breathing mammalia and friends, we were built for procreation, so it's also only natural your brain is hot for the ladies. You're just oversensitive to your thoughts, and then obsess over the thoughts, and then wind up here seeking advice. Or wait, is that me?

Right? What if he's correct in his assessment? All of us out here experiencing mid salmon when we could be having the best at our local Ruby's.
