  • The setting is not enabled by default. Also, the * hopefully reminds people that they didn't tag that specific account and that the same username on a different instance may represent two different people.

EDIT: Perhaps I should clarify that like user notes on Piefed, the ones in Connect are account specific. So different people don't see one another's tags. Though it's more app-specific in that your tags will be global, if you enable the option, across accounts on the app. So if I tag on Lemmy, I will see that tag if I'm on my Piefed account.

  • I would like to see an app or platform tackle something like this since I would like to see tagging functionality expanded. But unless an interested party develops something, I don't think we'll be seeing it anytime soon.

  • Tagging is user specified so unless someone tags you and also enabled the setting, you're wouldn't be affected under normal circumstances.

    Tagging users with multiple accounts

  • The feature would be for any post you comment on.

The preview option exists but not everyone uses it and sometimes one can forget to use it.

  • Connect and Interstellar has the bookmark button more accessible as well. That's probably the case for the other apps that support Piefed as well.

What I'd like to see is an expanded bookmark feature, that are fairly standard for website bookmarks; the ability to create folders and manage bookmarked comments and posts. Maybe someday.

  • Oh, I didn't know the Piefed import did blocks as well. I thought it was just subscriptions. I think I forwent the initial prompt at onboarding cause I thought it was just subscriptions. Just tried the import on mobile and hopefully it's all of it is updated soon.

    Migrating Lemmy blocks to Piefed?

  • Sorry for the late reply. I didn't realize I posted this on my Piefed account. I still mostly use Lemmy. Connect is not open source so you'd have to grab it from the app stores. The dev did indicate they would consoder open sourcing the app and this was months ago. I'm not sure if they're still open to the idea.

  • Connect added reaction support in the last beta. It's not fully fleshed out but you can give reactions to posts and comments, as well as see reactions on comments. So what's missing, offhand, is custom reactions and seeing the list of reactions on posts.
