  • The repository itself or the build process have had no changes, with the one addition being the large set of handheld and performance optimization patches Bazzite users have come to expect. These include the latest in handheld compatibility patches (OneXPlayer, ROG Ally, Steam Deck LCD/OLED, Surface devices) and stability fixes.

Enough magic for me :D I'm not sure where I read about latency fixes as well, have to come back on that.

  • It's the curse of lemmy/piefed at the moment. Low effort posts to pump up numbers.

Don't get me startet on the newest trend to change the original titel to make it sound even more bonkers. That should be banned in every single community asap.

  • I use one of these for the first two phases in a cannabis cycle, seedling and first growing stage. I have two Phillips MASTER PL-L with 4000K / 55W / 4800lm. They are very good for root develpment, but the low wattage means theres not enough oomph for bigger plants and your yield will suffer. Your regular growlight comes with 200W+ and different color for the flower cycle.

I'd say they are great for your first plants, but you will eventually upgrade.

  • During installation make sure to read up on atomic distros, there are some changes like package handling or the immutable system, but it's not a big hurdle. Have fun!

  • Am I hearing that I just need to switch to Bazzite and this problem disappears??

Yes, simple as that. I use Bazzite for ~2years now on my main desktop with nvidia and a legion go. It really is "install and forget it's linux". It's almost too good to be true...let's hope the big "enshitification" doesn't follow soon.

I’d expect that Bazzite and Mint would use the same Nvidia proprietary drivers

Expect a big leap in performance, they do a lot of magic with the kernel on Bazzite. It's really fun.

  • Boluarte faced widespread protests after she assumed power in late 2022, leading to dozens of deaths and a plunge in her popularity levels, which oscillated between 2% and 4% in the days leading up to her ouster. Congress – which was headed by Jerí before he became president – is almost equally unpopular, with a single-digit approval rating.

It's in there, last two paragraphs. The new president is just an updated version of the old one, with his own major corruption accusations:

Jerí, 38, has promised to make crime his top priority but has faced a number of scandals, including corruption allegations and a now-shelved investigation for sexual assault. Jerí has denied wrongdoing in both cases and expressed willingness to cooperate with any corruption investigation.

  • Can you still install an OSS alternative instead of their locked OS? I am using a F4-420 with TrueNAS for more then 6 years now, as I remember they changed something in their firmware so you are not able to install another OS anymore. But I can be wrong, my Terramaster runs just fine on TrueNAS (community edition). It's an awesome and trouble free NAS.

  • I am so happy about my MP3 collection from the last ~20 years. And vinyl is back, that's a win as well. Who needs datacollecting-streaming-ad-services?

  • Yikes, indeed. The entire complex around this monster is a deep and horrifying rabbithole.

  • Future "leaders"? This room full of Cartmans, with the depth of a random LoL-chat on a drunk saturday night? Good luck.
