Many work, some don't (didnt happen to me, many people say that they had problems with some releases). Personally, i would suggest downloading from cs.rin, and that way you dont need to install, just create a wineprefox and copy over the game files inside.

I mostly use FOSS, but most games arent FOSS, so thats the only thing I pirate now.
