Thanks for putting words in my mouth and talking down to me.
No, the point I'm making is that both parties serve the same masters. Look at who Meta/Palantir/Google/Microsoft donate to, do you think they're wasting their money when they give millions and millions to both parties?
Oh also I should say, the UN Special Rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories has warned that torture in Israeli prisons has become a "central tool" and that the Israeli detention system has “deteriorated… into something resembling a laboratory for cruel and deliberate practices” and they have documented severe treatment, including beatings, starvation, humiliation and other forms of inhumane practices. Among the detainees are included at least 1,500 children.
Israelis torturing a child to make a father confess is completely in character. They're a sick society.
But not everyone could actually do it - a lot of people don't even have yards, or share yard-space with neighbors, or have other animals that wouldn't be safe around chickens. A lot more people don't have the time or energy to modify their yard to actually be a reasonable enclosure for a chicken with enough space for her to be healthy and happy, or to clean up after her or feed her or take care of her when she's sick. This can't be a solution to factory farming for the majority of humanity, it's not even worth discussing.
Also, I actually had a chicken when I was young! She's why I'm vegan, too. I realized I didn't like the idea of killing her because she was my friend, no different than killing a pet dog or cat. I think, if more people raised chickens, they'd also realize that they don't want to kill their friends. It's easy to have empathy for a sweet innocent animal that you care for and would never hurt you.
I think we should normalize pet chickens, because I think people would start to see it as no different than killing 16-week old dogs.
It's not actually possible to garner support from the far right by appealing to them without going far to the right on every issue. They aren't undecided voters, winning them over requires being farther to the right than the candidates they already support.
Go to the right on Israel without going to the right on trans issues, environmental issues, immigration, regulations, taxes, etc then they'll ignore you. Why vote for diet right-wing when they can vote for the real thing?
You can vote for the party that supports Meta/Palantir/Google/Microsoft or you can vote for the other party that supports Meta/Palantir/Google/Microsoft
Eating flesh requires factory farming to be viable at a scale large enough for billions of humans. It's literally impossible for every human that eats chicken flesh to raise their own chickens, this is a non-starter.
Naw, these plans were sitting around for a long time. Trump just picked them up and ran with them, even though a lot of stuff is out-of-date. The biggest clue is the the girl's school bombing, it was once part of an IRGC compound ten-ish years ago.
If your country has a plan to go to war with every other country in the world and a warmonger gets elected then one of those plans will be implemented regardless of whether its justified. See: Iraq, Iran
The next fascist that gets elected will probably start a war with China regardless of the Taiwan situation.
My personal experience was, in fact, that I was mad at vegans for making me think about it. I find most people, when pressed, feel that hurting animals is wrong and sometimes will even admit it. That's why so many of them are obsessed with the future being lab-grown meat, they'd rather be able to eat flesh without hurting anyone.
I bet that applies to you, too. If we could grow lab grown bacon, which tastes exactly the same as flesh from a pig, you'd choose it every time. I doubt you actually want to hurt pigs.
I definitely used girl-coded screen names before I even admitted to myself that I was trans, and choosing to post under the name "Lilly" is important. But the final statement seems relevant too. "My name is Aaron" can't be ignored or forgotten.
But then again, looking at that final statement, there was the use of the phrase "I am an active duty member of the United States Air Force" instead of "airman". All the reporting says "airman" but, in those final words, that's not what was actually said.
Then there's the final post "Many of us like to ask ourselves “What would I do if I was alive during slavery? Or the Jim Crow South? Or apartheid? What would I do if my country was committing genocide?" What if the answer to that question is "remain closeted so my final political act remains focused on Palestine"? Was this a choice to be remembered as a man made out of worry that anything else would be a distraction from the protest action? It's possible. Was the video posted under “lillyanarkitty” as a silent scream to not be remembered as just a man? Was it a non-binary choice, to be remembered as both Aaron and Lilly in their last moments?
I don't think I feel comfortable making any definitive choice. So, I avoid gendering as much as possible.
Thanks for putting words in my mouth and talking down to me.
