    cd
    rm
    mkdir
    su

    and many more 😂

itsfoss.com 15 Signs Linux Is Not For You

If you recognized yourself in a few of these points, that doesn’t mean Linux isn’t for you. In fact, you can count it as an invitation. It just means you’ve spent a long time in an ecosystem that treats you more like a product than a participant.

15 Signs Linux Is Not For You
    1. You love giving your data away
    2. You enjoy being tracked by your operating system
    3. You’re happy when your computer tells you “no”
    4. You prefer someone else deciding what you can run
    5. You feel uncomfortable if you get to have options
    6. You’d rather battle corporate tech support
    7. You’d rather rent your software than own it
    8. You think ads belong on your desktop
    9. You love being lied to about what’s “industry standard”
    10. You like rebooting for every little update
    11. You’re uncomfortable when software is transparent
    12. You think community-made tools can’t be “professional”
    13. You want intrusive AI everywhere, whether it helps or not
    14. You think the command line is only for hackers
    15. You never really wanted your computer to be yours anyway

blogs.gnome.org Significant Drag and Drop Vulnerability in WebKitGTK

WebKitGTK 2.50.3 contains a workaround for CVE-2025-13947, an issue that allows websites to exfiltrate files from your filesystem. If you're using Epiphany or any other web browser based on WebKitGTK, then you should immediately update to 2.50.3. Websites may attach file URLs to drag sources. When t...

Happenings in GNOME: Status Week 48

    blogs.gnome.org Status Week 48

This week was Thanksgiving holiday in the US and I spent the entire week quite sick with something that was not Covid nor Flu according to rapid tests. Managed to get a few things done through sheer force of will. I don't recommend it. Red Hat A lot of misdirection related to our international move....

  • As the UI is not open source, I don't think it is a topic which belongs here.

  • There are so many resources on what to pick as first distro. I do not understand why people don't check those out first ...

  • Thanks, I'll replace the link

  • What I did see only at a second glace are those arrows which were added in narrow mode:

As already mentioned. more will probably come in the future

  • Very nice. I'll check it out

  • I agree, that would be really neat. I also thought about that!

  • But it's a good starting point. Better than inventing everything from the scratch.

  • That's not necessarily true. There are programs/plugins like scd in zshell which make your life easier. https://github.com/ohmyzsh/ohmyzsh/blob/master/plugins/scd/README.md
