⚠️ I sometimes post NSFW stuff.

I’m a 37m British writer, designer, gaymer, lefty snowflake, and AuDHDer. I never shut up about Ace Attorney, and I collect Tamagotchis. Trying to learn Japanese, currently N4-ish.

  • I always wonder whether we're getting it backwards.

Like, did you see ads for kayaks because you had that conversation about kayaking, or did you have the conversation because an ad company/social network decided it was time for you to get into kayaking?

  • Or it accidentally got the wording wrong, oops

  • Like that "I Am Rich" app in the early days of the App Store that was $999.99 and just showed a picture of a diamond.

  • Wes Streeting has just backed Andy Burnham to become leader (11:09am BST, via Sky News), so I guess that takes away Burnham's only possible stumbling block.

Wonder if anyone else will even try to run 🤔

  • I bet building a ton of data centres is the answer ✨

  • It's likely to be Andy Burnham, who IIRC is currently the only British politician with a net positive approval rating. So that's something. 🤷‍♂️ He's been pretty successful (and well liked) as the mayor of Greater Manchester, and generally comes across a bit more human than the other lizard-people in British politics.

He's often described as "soft-left" by the media. So far, he's been a vocal supporter of proportional representation, which is great, but whether he'll drop that as soon as he gets into Number 10 is a different matter.

He's a member of the "Labour Friends of Israel" group, but kinda seems to mostly sit on the fence on that whole issue. (He called for a ceasefire but refused to call it a genocide.)

I'm sure other people will chip in with other problematic things about him, I haven't looked too deeply. 😃

  • I never know until it happens.

Dropped a fork? Friend used the wrong punctuation mark in a text message? Accidentally thought about the wrong past event? Computer froze? Something didn't go exactly how I planned it in my head?

Could be anything. I guess it's always more than one thing, but my brain doesn't give me enough forewarning that I'm starting to feel crappy, so all these stupid minor things end up taking me by suprise. 😬

  • This really warmed my heart 🥲

  • On one hand, I'm glad 4chan is taking this position.

On the other hand, this is probably how the UK ends up losing access to certain websites (and VPNs) "bEcAuSe ThEyR'e NoT dOiNg EnOuGh tO pRoTeCt ChILDrEn" 💀

  • FWIW, it's a myth that sugar causes hyperactivity. But it's been shown in studies that parents who believe the myth are more likely to perceive their children's behaviour as hyperactive when they've had sugar.

I think there is evidence that some artificial food additives can have that effect in some people, though.

  • Ate loads of shit for years as soon as I left home, now type-2 diabetic. 😬

  • Did you somehow post this from a typewriter

  • They're 100% going to come for VPNs as well.

  • I once explosively vomited in an Outback Steakhouse on my 21st birthday. Like, a narrow, winding trail of sick leading to the toilets, sick all over the toilet bowl, sick on the ceiling, sick all up the walls, sick on the floor. It was horrendous.

I hadn't even been drinking, I felt rough all day so all I ended up having was a Pepsi. 😬

Anyway, I came out looking really sheepish and told my flatmates we needed to leave. One of them went to tell a member of staff, who stared at her for a few seconds, then pointed at another guy and said, "Can you go and tell that to my manager, and not tell him you told me? Because I really don't want to deal with that." 😅

  • It makes you believe that it did the work, but also makes you feel like it's your fault if it doesn't do the work 😬
