  • By having the resources to create and distribute a product with polish.

Yeah, I'm going to ignore you after this. You're too far behind and I can't be arsed to bring you up to speed.

For everyone else, this commenter clearly doesn't understand that without copyright and patent laws, hollywood won't be able to restrict access to their content behind artificial scarcity. Anyone will be allowed to share their movies freely, which will have a direct impact on their bottom line.

This is why corporations like copyright and patent laws. It's also another example of how useful idiots have been conditioned to work against their own interests and fight anyone who fights back.

  • This meme about prison being for "rehabilitation" needs to go the way of the dodo.

Life isn't all sunshine and rainbows, kids. Sometimes the only way to stop somebody from doing something bad is to threaten them with, gasp, a punishment.

Sad this needs to be spelled out for most of you, but it really puts into perspective the kind of person that frequents these forums.

I'm just glad most of you don't have a greater impact on the world.

  • I voted for her in 2016 because she was better than any other candidate.

Thought if trump won, democrats would change their course.

It's a shame they didn't, and so I didn't bother voting in the 2024 election. Would've just been a waste of time for me.

    Run better candidates, democrats! Lol

  • We're still hampered by the decisions made decades ago to base our society around proprietary technologies.

It's a shame bad people who understood the implications of such decisions were able to recruit layman to their cause. Good people like Richard Stallman are only heard about in fringe tech circles while the bad men are household names.

  • Bless you for doing god's work. We need more GUI developers and a better ecosystem as a whole.

That said, it's pretty shite right now. Your established options are GTK and Qt. Qt uses C++ and I believe GTK uses C. I've only really looked briefly into Qt development, and it looks like there are bindings to Rust.

That said, I'm a firm believer that doing GUIs through code is an inefficient, cumbersome, and antiquated process that should be replaced with more visual alternatives, like we see in Godot Engine.
