Yes, your gut instinct is so important! It doesn't matter if you know exactly why you feel the need to get out. Your subconscious knows something's off, and that's enough. Just get out!
Be kind to yourself, especially when you're struggling. This one is tough for me because I'm forever calling myself an idiot or lazy when I know I'm neither of those things. But talking down to yourself is harmful and demoralizing. I'm really trying to practice patience with myself, and to talk to myself as kindly as I would a dear friend. And praise yourself when you do something well!
Unless I know I'm being genuinely lazy, then a verbal kick in the pants can help ;)
She would be absolutely stunned. Probably wouldn't believe me. At 43 I'm married to the guy I was dating at 19. At 19 I had dropped out of college and thought I wanted to be an artist; at 43 I'm already retired from a successful career in academic research. At 19 I had no thoughts about politics or the world as a whole (9/11 hadn't happened yet); at 43 I'm pretty informed and opinionated. And she'd probably be surprised how much I'm into the outdoors, healthy living, and weightlifting, given that she had negative interest in those things. The rest is pretty consistent - e.g., I've always loved music from the '60s, fun nail polish, scifi, swimming, and handmade art (drawing, beading, etc).
As a kid I made a PB, banana, mayo, and potato chip sandwich pretty often. I fucking loved it. As an adult I'd never eat that, but occasionally I crave it.
This works more for the yellow ranger. The pink ranger is clearly female in the original Japanese version - she has breasts and her uniform has a skirt. But the original Japanese yellow ranger was male: no breasts, no skirt. The US execs probably wanted 2 female rangers, but they chose yellow over red, blue, or black as the most likely "girl" color.
Thanks for doing this Lady/Cheese!
Maybe for the folks that don't like fashion, we could do a "Fashion Friday" thing, where there's a Friday megathread dedicated to fashion? Just a thought. And just to clarify, does fashion pertain to just clothing, or does it include makeup/nail polish/jewelry, etc?
That's me and jaffa cakes haha
I feel ya. I procrastinated on it so long this year, which is unlike me - I usually send everything to my tax guy in like early February. But I just got it done this past Sunday. I'm proud of you for tackling this! And please don't see yourself as a failure. Everyone goes through transitional times and you'll figure out your next stage, just be patient with yourself. 🤍
It's not the kind of clothing I'd normally wear myself, but assuming this is for some sort of business event, I'd probably tuck it in and roll the sleeves up to my forearm, then add a slim belt, slim silver bangle, and black blazer with the sleeves cuffed, and probably pair it with Chelsea boots. Maybe add a delicate silver necklace.
Never squeeze a teabag unless you want overly bitter tea. It releases extra tannins into the brew. Just pull it out and let it drip into your mug a couple of seconds before you discard it.
How about 634-5789?
You should check out the Fairy Voice Mother on YouTube. She talks all about how positioning the lips, jaw, and larynx in certain ways helps create certain sounds. Very interesting!
Oh man dat lil toof.
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!
"Ah you know, same old."
This is helpful, thank you so much! 🤍
Ahhhh this is massive!! You've been a great mod, setting this comm up and making sure it gets off the ground with interesting posts. We appreciate your hard work!
I'm curious how that works for health insurance and saving for retirement. Presumably van dwelling requires some amount of working to fund food, gas, and repairs. So I'm guessing Obamacare or maybe Medicaid for health insurance if your income is low enough. But how does planning for the future work?
