Hey all!

I'm Jamie, for the time being, a freshly hatched woman.

I'm new to identifying as part of the lgbtq+ community, and often unsure if my wording of thoughts is inclusive or might contain internalised transphobia. Please let me know if you feel I've failed and help me improve.

  • Well, just joking ofc. So that islamophobia was also part of atheism+? The religions wiki conveniently leaves that part out. It really reads like the similar values which the church of Satan stands for, just without the whole "We worship Satan to fuck with fundamentalists" schtick.

  • That second one triggered another memory... when I was a kid in a church going family, at some point I was expected to dress more appropriately. That of course meant wearing a shirt, eventually suit and tie. I hated this so, so much, actually never got through with wearing a tie. And I was so, so jealous of all the women who could dress nice in beautiful skirts and dresses. That might've been the moment I accepted the lie that I am a man and started to believe I have to live up to that.

    Oh, and another fun fact: Turns out most cis-men apparently do not have a phase in their teens, where they wonder if they'd be a better and more productive member of society if they lost their dicks for some reason. It wasn't even related to gender at all, I somehow just believed, as some kind of eunuch, I might be a happier person.

  • Huh, relationship experiences will probably be its own rabbit hole to dive into. Now that you mention it, Sex was generally overwhelming, with all the expectations I've mostly put on myself, trying to perform like a man. Pretty much thought I'd have to dissociate to make it work and that's what every man does.

  • IIRC the architect in part 2 even said that they tried to make the matrix a paradise, but that would make its inhabitants more suspicious, leading to a faster collapse of the fake reality.

  • Might be a rather personal schtick. I should note that I mean stuff like the black friday deals at proton, if it gets cheaper if you commit to a longer subscription, that's ok with me. Mullvad's pricing philosphy e.g. is the super appealing to me.

    If there are special discounts, it means the normal prize is higher than the product's value. You practically get punished if you don't take the deal or start when it's not available. And it's all adding to the game of advertising and baiting new customers. Special offers for new customers are another example of that.

    Not trying to be preachy, just personal preferences.

  • Well, I get where you're coming from. I meant questionable quite literal, there surely is still room to give Proton the benefit of the doubt.

    But I switched VPN providers already and 5€ for Mail only just doesn't seem fair to me.

    I should get used to using names more, irl I'm pretty much only using a person's name to get their attention. Probably because I lowkey hated being referred to by my own (nick-)names, huh. God, why does everything make so much sense now.

    Gender Euphoria seems to be one hell of a drug. Is that how cis-folks feel through all of their lives, they just got so used to it that it's not as intense?
