    Iran has opened the strait for limited navigation, under their control by their navy. They have opened it with tolls. Not just anyone can pass through. Only those whom they approve can pass through. Which is a vague and undefined definition that can change at any time, at their whim.

    So, yes, it seems like you’re either lying or don’t understand the news article you read.

    Even your quote states some of the limited conditions under which ships can pass. Nothing about it is “completely open”. Its openness is extremely limited.

  • seems to me like TP reached out to maybe some neo-nazi district admin that made a short-term booking with little-to-no notice (so they couldn't stop the nazis) to the actual school admin (except maybe the principle through some super-vague email, designed to hide the nazis) about some "district-mandated school assembly" (of nazis).

    Some state/county/local law must have kicked in, requiring some sort of disclosure to some series of people the ended up in people being informed they were about to be mind-pissed by a bunch of christo-nazis, and, clearly, lots of people - included very not-stupid children - had a major fucking problem with that.

  • It’s has several features (for users and admin) that Lemmy devs seem to have stagnated on for years. As someone who’s been here for almost as long as I have, I highly suggest you consider piefed.

    Kbin/mbin were early iterations away from Lemmy and its politics. Piefed has been much more successful. Check it out.

  • One of piefed’s cool features. I know you’ve been on Lemmy for a while. I moved to Lemmy during the diggexodus about 4 years ago, and bounced around instances for a while. Ended up on piefed because it has some neat upgrades and skips most of the political stuff. But it completely interoperates with Lemmy, so it works the same pretty much.

    Anyway, I think it’s pretty great that you do the work you do with horses, and it’s super sweet. Where do you live? Like in the US or Canada or wherever?

  • although colorful, for once, I don't believe that this was one of Trump's clumsy attempts at gaslighting-- I think some staffer tried to coach him into dismissing this as some doctored meme (which it kinda was, but only a tiny part up top with the weird flying demon thing, not the part where he's clearly a messianic figure), and his fried brain got it confused.

    but that's just my interpretation, and we'll never really know for sure unless someone testifies to/writes a memoir about it in a few years/decades or whatever ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
